Announcing Accenture Leaders of Tomorrow Award 2017 Finalists
By: Norma O' Mahony

The Accenture Leaders of Tomorrow team are excited to announce the 8 companies that have been selected as finalists in our 2017 Award. This is the 10th year of the award, which has continued to grow in terms of number and standard of entries year on year.

We kicked things off in September 2016 when applications opened visiting 11 Third Level Institutions across the island of Ireland and holding 3 webinars for those across Europe. The response this year has been astonishing, with the number of applications increasing by a staggering 70% on last year (48% of which had female founders). Applications came from 34 different Third level institutions, across 11 countries.

The 239 Stage 1 applications were whittled down to 111, who were chosen to complete Stage 2, validating their market by getting our there and speaking to potential customers. This was then brought to 22, who were invited to our ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitch to Accenture Ireland Senior Management, NDRC Venture Leaders, past winners and entrepreneurs.

From 239, the final 8 have been chosen, who will take part in two development days, before one will be chosen as the 2017 Accenture Leader of Tomorrow.
