Meet our people - Shikha
May 26, 2021
I joined Accenture in 2019 as a Cloud Consultant in the ServiceNow Practice. I was working in India in my previous organisation and had worked for a short time outside of India in the United Kingdom, working on ServiceNow engagements in a Client location. I got the wonderful opportunity to join the Ireland Cloud Practice to explore my skills and I also knew that it was a beautiful country. I am excited to be part of the Cloud First team now and looking ahead to participating more and more in the area.
I work as a Cloud Advisory Consultant in Ireland ServiceNow projects. This involves analysing existing customer challenges and building the relevant solution to meet their business demands, implementing a new and complete technical solution.
In Accenture every project is a new challenge and there are always new learnings, but the most interesting client for me was in the banking sector, where as a Cloud Consultant I had to face a number of challenges, especially with security. Working on solutions in cloud and meeting the project requirements helped me to upgrade my skills.
At Accenture every project is a new challenge and there are always new learnings.
There is always a morning welcome at the daily stand ups to cheer everyone up 😊. As a team we always coordinate with our colleagues to help and assist each other, whether that’s in a personal or professional capacity, which helps create a healthy and safe environment. Due to COVID restrictions everything is virtual now, with some fun activities like quiz games, and I hope we will go back to normal weekly team meetings and social meetups which I enjoyed prior to COVID.
There are multiple, huge opportunities in every area, and Accenture always provides us with the opportunity to learn something new, whether that is outside of your specific domain or to gain a deeper knowledge of your current area. There are always wonderful training sessions to register for, to speed up your development. Apart from this, I like the way we can reach out to colleagues anytime it's needed.
I would say connect and learn more about the organisation's strategy and goals, and see how you can apply to work here and make it even better!
