Meet our people - Rita

I joined Accenture in September 2017 after finishing my undergrad in Mathematics at Ulster University. Prior to joining I had no idea what analytics was but knew that I didn’t want to go down the accountancy route that most of my classmates were taking. What appealed to me most about Accenture was the continuous learning opportunities, the ability to work with global teams and the open and inclusive culture.
I work as a Data Science Consultant for the Applied Intelligence practice focusing on financial crime, fraud, risk, and compliance. My current role is lead data scientist of a risk detection project for a large Dutch bank.
I worked internally on the time and expense team within Accenture where I got to see how company policies were implemented to monitor fraud and non-compliance across Accenture globally.
What appealed to me most about Accenture was the continuous learning opportunities, the ability to work with global teams and the open and inclusive culture.
With remote working being the norm, I spend most of my day on calls – whether it’s gathering requirements from the client or working through a problem together with my team. I work primarily with SQL and Python however I’ve also picked up Power BI to develop a dashboard for the business to visualise our results.
I would have to say the people. I didn’t know anyone when I first moved to Dublin over 3 years ago and within analytics I have found some of my closest friends.
Reach out to learn more about what we do! There are lots of opportunities within Applied Intelligence with many projects across various industries, the ability to rotate and training in analytics methods and tools.
