I am a qualified Electrical Engineer, graduating in 2006 and I completed my last semester internship at the GE Research centre in Bangalore, India. My six sigma project topic was transformers, and I always wanted to pursue a career in the electrical field. Following my internship and graduation I was hoping for a permanent role in GE, but in the meantime I submitted an entrance test for a campus selection process where all of the top IT companies were recruiting. I was selected by a few companies, and I chose Accenture because they posted me to Mumbai, which was away from home and, being a student, it was always exciting to have the opportunity to get out of home to work . I thought I would see how life in IT is, and initially I had no interest in working for more than 3 months because I was waiting for a more permanent role in the GE research centre. This was how my journey with Accenture started, and after 15 years in this firm I am still going strong.
Oracle is my core technology, and I have worked with many clients over the past 15 years. In the last 6 years I have worked with a client in the south of Ireland as lead for Oracle Financials, Business Intelligence and the Oracle DBA team. Apart from leading the team, I also help in RFP’s, technical assessments for new projects within the client and occasionally for other projects within the technology stream. I love to be technical, and I still work on my oracle certifications to keep up to date. Being technically-minded has always helped me to be a good lead, especially when leading technology based teams.
My current client is the one I have enjoyed working with most, not only because I have spent more than 5 years with them, but also because of the people I work with on both client and Accentre-side. It's exciting to work with different teams, different technologies and also to work closely with the client on day-to-day basis; addressing their challenges as a vendor keeps me motivated. I'm always learning. I sometimes feel more aligned to the client than I do to Accenture, which I think is a good thing as it shows how much trust the client has in Accenture and their employees.

My mornings usually begin with a team stand-up (a daily call with the team where we go over our progress and align on what we are currently working on). I manage different teams and also work with multiple projects, so I need to quickly adapt to different situations, skills, technologies, and people, which keep my mind busy all the time during working hours. I like to use my lunchtime for myself to do some housework, cook and eat. While working from home it is important we take frequent coffee breaks to keep focused. I normally log in in again in the evening to plan the next day's work.

Love the work you do, or do the work which you love. If you are leading the team, always think about their resources, their wellbeing and their growth as if it is your own. If you take care of your team, they will take care of you. At the end of the day it is teamwork that brings us success in this firm.
