Tell me about the work you do.

Ekaterina profile photoI have been working in Accenture as a Sales Manager for a large client, helping advertisers to promote their products on the client's platform. I have been providing efficient sales and marketing solutions to advertisers focusing on marketing success and revenue growth. Building trustworthy relationships and understanding of the advertisers’ needs is the core element of my work. It is constant development and growth, as I am getting training from both Accenture and the client, and learning new things all the time. As a senior member of the team, I also give training myself, working on the training content, looking for new materials and coordinating with our training team. My daily work involves a lot of customer support and team support, which I find especially valuable. In my current role I am also developing analytical skills, as I deliver a lot of reports for customers on a weekly basis, using the performance data of their campaigns. Apart from this, I compile the business weekly review for management meetings, where I take insights from the most relevant data. Being an Account Manager and providing support to the client's customers, I am also responsible for the team growth and development, and this makes my work especially exciting.

What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on and what made it so exciting?

The most exciting project I have worked in Accenture is my current one, as I have grown professionally and personally, learnt a lot and now feel much more confident than before. I have developed my negotiation and communications skills, developing a feel for what I need to say in a particular situation and bring a positive outcome from the conversation. This is hugely beneficial at work and in life as well. I feel more comfortable and more confident when dealing with many different people in different situations, and I am grateful to Accenture for this opportunity to grow. The project is especially exciting, as it involves different responsibilities - not only in sales or digital marketing. The role is very diverse, comprehensive, dynamic, and evolving. I am also working with customers’ data, and as I am very analytical and focused, this brings additional value to my daily work. Moreover, I find it incredibly important that everyone is very supportive and responsive in the team. The atmosphere is friendly, and yes, it is competitive, but also positive and friendly.  We even had mindfulness and meditations sessions that helped us keep motivated and balanced, which was brilliant.

It is learning, growing and developing that I especially value in Accenture
What’s a day-in-the-life like at Accenture?

As a senior member of the team, I am constantly interacting with the other teams, helping with customers' challenges and looking through accounts to find the most efficient solution. I am always eager to help and I feel happy when I have a chance to help my colleagues. I am certainly concentrating a lot on my own customers as well, doing a lot of account optimization and identifying upsell opportunities. Working with the top performing customers involves a lot of responsibility, but I have learnt to overcome the challenges of difficult situations with customers. My daily work also involves organizing and giving training that I find especially exciting, as I was a teacher of English and German in the past, and I feel fulfilled when sharing knowledge with others. I am taking training myself as well, as the sky is the limit and there are no boundaries for perfection! I am keen on learning and developing, and there are a lot of opportunities for this in my project.

What do you like the most about working at Accenture?

What I like the most about working in Accenture is the diversity and constant development. I have been in Accenture for almost 2 years, and looking back I can definitely say that I have learnt a lot. The project has been growing, evolving, and changing for the better. I am grateful for this opportunity to grow together with the project, to contribute to this and be part of the Accenture Team. It is learning, growing and developing that I especially value in Accenture.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I write articles on business and psychological topics for an Irish business journal. Writing has been my hobby for 4 years and I am happy to have a chance to write in Ireland, and to hear positive feedback from my readers. I also do Chinese martial arts tai chi and kung fu in my free time, that helps me keep balanced, motivated and positive. In addition, I love hiking, and whenever I have a chance, I travel around Ireland exploring fascinating and beautiful Irish landscapes.

What advice would you give to someone interested in the work you do?

The most important thing I would recommend is to take the opportunity to learn a lot, not to be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and to embrace challenges. All challenges are opportunities to grow. Take the initiative and always be proactive. Remain keen on knowledge and curious, there are a lot of valuable things to discover in the project. Keep positive and if anything might seem difficult, your team will always help. Do not be afraid to ask for help and support, as you cannot do always everything alone. Remember that there are a lot of opportunities for growth and development, professionally and personally, so look for these opportunities and be always proactive.
