Tell me about your journey to joining Accenture.

Ankit profile photoI joined Accenture, India back in 2015 working for a Financial Services client and got the opportunity to travel to Dublin on a short term assignment. It was a great experience working here in Dublin, people were really warm and welcoming; even more so when socialising outside of work. Right after the assignment I was offered a long term role and I moved to Dublin in 2016 which turned out to be quite permanent. Later in 2018 I got officially transferred to the Applied Intelligence practice and it has been an amazing journey from there.

Tell me about the work you do

I currently work as a Manager for the Applied Intelligence practice and the majority of my work is helping clients shape & build their enterprise analytics solutions specializing in data engineering and integration.

What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on and what made it so exciting?

The most exciting projects for me have also been the most challenging ones. I worked as the Technical Owner of  a huge data programme on IFRS9 regulatory standards, where I was responsible for designing the solution alongside other great colleagues from the practice. In spite of the daily challenges, the overall energy & enthusiasm of the team in getting the programme across the line was one of the best experiences in my professional life.

Aside from helping clients, there are also great learning opportunities for self-growth at Accenture.
What’s a day-in-the-life like at Accenture?

My usual day in Accenture would be meeting a lot of clients, understanding their requirements, preparing tangible architecture documentation (from my scribbles!) to make it readable & usable by our engineering teams to get the job done.  Aside from the client work, there were always jokes flying around, fun activities like bake-offs, Freddo Questions, 'Thank Crunchie' Fridays etc. which really boosts the team’s enthusiasm and provide networking opportunities. In pre-Covid times, there were always invites on the table for socialising & nights-out which I think everyone is missing these days!

What do you like the most about working at Accenture?

People & Policies; I believe Accenture being a global organization has a wide variety of employee-centric policies and a diverse pool of people bringing varied talents to the practice, which shows across all our teams.

What advice would you give to someone interested in the work you do?

Join us and experience it for yourself 😊. Accenture is an excellent place for people interested in shaping their careers around modern technologies and strategic thinking in this rapidly evolving market. Apart from helping clients, there are great learning opportunities for self-growth. Accenture has a wide reach due to its global network and this makes it one of the greatest companies to work for.
