At Accenture in Ireland, we are proud to work with colleagues from all over the World. At this festive time of year, celebrations take place in many forms, and we've taken the opportunity to ask some of our colleagues to tell us more about how they choose to celebrate the holidays. Read on to learn more!

Q: How do you and your family/friends celebrate the holiday season?

Deepesh Tripathi - India

As part of a large and diverse community in India, we share and celebrate traditions even though we are not part of the same religion, and it is something that enriches us and brings us all together as a strong and diverse country, so we like to get together as a family and enjoy our company in this season of light.

Maria April Matulewski - Philippines

I'm living abroad for three years now with my husband. This is our third Christmas together that we keep on trying to blend both of our traditions. He is Polish and they don’t eat any sort of meat on Christmas eve. Meanwhile, in the Philippines, the grandest celebration would include "Lechon" (slow-roasted pork). I will leave the rest to your imagination. :)  At the end of the day, we are together and that's the most important.

Lara Kasbari - Palestine

I come from Bethlehem, the city of Christmas. It is very unique around the Holiday season. I usually enjoy the amazing festivities around the city with my family. We also set up the Christmas tree together and gather around for a family dinner on Christmas eve.

Sunil Parashar - India

We play together, eat together and pray together. I think it's very important to ensure we get the right balance between our work and family life and the holiday season really helps to re-energise us.

Katy Amos - Hong Kong

For the second year in a row, I won’t be able to go home for Christmas due to Hong Kong’s three-week hotel quarantine, and I’m really missing my family. Normally, however, we all get on the historic Star Ferry to peer up at the Christmas lights adorning the skyscrapers on both sides of the harbour. Also, we always go on a big hike on Christmas Eve in preparation for the days of feasting ahead!

Akhila Chandran - India

Ever since I moved to UKI, I join my friends' families for Christmas dinner, and spend considerable time (and money) in Nov-Dec shopping for presents! Also, watching the Christmas tree lighting has become a new tradition for me over the past seven years since leaving India!
