Variety is the Spice of Life (in Accenture)
By: Fiona Lawlor
Whenever I tell people about my job in Accenture, one of the first questions I am asked is "How does a psychology graduate end up choosing a career in consulting?". Whilst it is true that psychology and consulting may not be the most obvious combination, one of the best things about Accenture is that they employ individuals from any and every academic background.
The diversity of people working in Accenture is one of my favourite things about the company. Every day I meet new people, all with a different background and all with an interesting story or two to tell. This variety really makes life in Accenture enjoyable and interesting, and it is exemplified even by my own start group- out of the twelve of us, there are people who graduated with degrees in psychology, theoretical physics, maths, law, engineering, business, and even medicine.
