One of the main challenges with adopting a hybrid cloud architecture is blending legacy architecture with newer cloud-based systems while minimizing interruptions to ongoing business. This can be avoided through unified access by combining cloud-based and on-premise data—bringing disparate data sources together to present a single view of the enterprise’s data.

Modernization must support seamless scaling and integration with existing technology, infrastructure, and services. It should provide consistent development and service experience for cloud and on-premise, and adhere to the organization’s governance and compliance requirements during its implementation.

The businesses of the future will be agile, fast-moving, and push the boundaries of what is possible with data regardless of where that data lives. ANCON is a building block towards that future.

Accenture, in collaboration with Google and Confluent, has developed ANCON. The combination of “Anthos” and “Confluent” that provides a hybrid architecture designed to modernize and migrate on-prem application services and legacy data storage systems to Google Cloud Platform while keeping existing services fully operational with no downtime.

In this paper, we discuss ANCON, how it enables businesses to unify disparate systems and move data freely across environments—empowering developers to build innovative new applications that make businesses more efficient and competitive by accessing and utilizing real-time data.
