We are extremely proud to announce that Accenture has been named Stonewall’s 2013 "Employer of the Year", taking first place in the annual Workplace Equality Index that showcases the UK’s top 100 public and private sector employers for lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) staff.
The index recognises and rewards the pioneering efforts of leading businesses to create workplaces where people can reach their full potential.
This year’s success has been attributed to a number of new initiatives, which included Accenture’s leadership development programme for LGBT staff during World Pride in London, their continued sponsorship of the London Lesbian & Gay Film festival, the further establishment of Accenture’s LGBT Allies programme and their engagement and collaboration with other LGBT groups across clients and the country.
Olly Benzecry, senior managing director of Accenture in the UK and Ireland, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this recognition from Stonewall. It is a huge credit to our LGBT network. One reason Accenture is a successful business is because of the individuals and groups who make it a great place for people to work and perform at their best.”
The Index is based on a range of key indicators which include a confidential survey of lesbian, gay and bisexual employees, with nearly 9,000 participants. This consistently revealed that the satisfaction levels of gay staff were highest at the top-ranking organisations in the Index.
