Accenture to Expand Technology and Consulting Workforce in Newcastle

Recruitment drive underway
to fill 60 new positions

NEWCASTLE, England; April 25 2017 – Accenture plans to hire 60 people for its Newcastle operations by the end of its 2017 fiscal year, on Aug. 31, and is currently recruiting for the new roles, which will be based at its offices in the Cobalt Business Park.

The new positions, in the company’s Technology and Consulting workforces, will range from entry-level to experienced executives and include support for clients of Accenture’s Health & Public Service practice.

The recruitment drive, part of Accenture’s strategy to broaden its consulting workforce outside London, will enable Accenture to deliver a broader set of consulting capabilities from its Newcastle Campus. This expansion reflects Accenture’s ongoing investment in the North East and its support for the U.K. government’s plans to rebalance the national economy by establishing the North of England as a global economic powerhouse.

“We are looking for skilled and highly motivated individuals who share our commitment to helping clients succeed in the digital economy,” said Mark Larsen, managing director for Accenture Newcastle. “Accenture already has a strong presence in the North East, with established links to its flourishing business and academic communities. Our new hires will enable us to further expand our local footprint and ensure that our strategic consulting advisory practice is well-positioned to take advantage of the wealth of talent and opportunities in the North East.”

Norma Redfearn, the elected mayor of North Tyneside, said, “Accenture’s strong growth and local job creation has contributed significantly to the regional economy in recent years. The company’s commitment to the North East is helping our local tech sector to flourish, and we welcome the news that Accenture is expanding its consulting presence here, as that will support our drive to attract and retain more talent in the region.”

Accenture’s expansion of its North East management consulting and technology consulting capabilities build on existing investment in its Newcastle Delivery Centre, which is part of a global network that offers solutions across a wide range of leading established and emerging technologies. The Delivery Centre also focuses on driving innovation by developing proofs of concepts and demonstrating the latest technologies to clients.
