Alastair Blair

Country Managing Director, Ireland

Alastair Blair is Country Managing Director for Accenture Ireland.  He joined Accenture in 1987 with a degree in Electronic Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin.  During his career he has fulfilled a number of senior roles within the company with a particular focus on financial services. He has worked with many major banks and financial services organisations in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East on a broad range of strategic, communications and change initiatives.  Prior to his current appointment, Alastair was based in London where he led Accenture's Financial Services business in the UK and Ireland. He previously headed up Accenture’s Banking practice in the UK and prior to that the Financial Services practice in Ireland. 

Alastair has extensive knowledge of business strategy and organisational change.  His work has included major technology-led business model redesign and the implementation of major regulatory change programmes.  More recently he has led Accenture Ireland’s activities in the startup ecosystem and with particular focus on Accenture’s FinTech accelerator programme. 

Alastair Blair, is on the Board of IBEC, Chair of the IBEC Digital Economy Policy Committee and he is a board member of the Business to Arts Board. He also sits on Accenture’s UK and Ireland Executive Management Team.  He is a keen supporter of the company’s inclusion and diversity initiatives including the Accent on Gender programme, the LGBT Straight Allies programme and is a strong advocate of Accenture’s Skills to Succeed programme.  He has served as the internal senior champion for Junior Achievement, who have a long-standing partnership with the company in Ireland. 

Alastair is married to Leslie with whom he has three children ranging in age from 11 to 15.  He is an avid sports fan, enjoys travelling and listening to music in his spare time.
