If you're in your penultimate year of university, this eight-week scheme will show you what we do, how we do it, and how you could be part of it. You’ll get a real taste of life at Accenture, have the opportunity to learn new skills and get an insight into the work you could be doing as a graduate. What’s more, if you do well, we may offer you a permanent role after you graduate.
The scheme starts in July, beginning with a week-long induction that will give you a solid grounding in business and technology consultancy, as well as valuable commercial skills.
After that first week, you’ll start on a project. It could be based anywhere in the UK within one of our consulting teams. And you won’t just be shadowing others – you’ll be getting in the mix right from the start. Your responsibilities might include testing software, conducting research, writing reports or analysing data. We’ll make sure you have all the support you need with a ‘buddy’ who will be on-hand throughout to offer guidance. And we’ll pay you a competitive pro rata salary too. If you do well, you might receive an offer to join us after you graduate.
You’ll currently be in the penultimate year of study for your degree and be expecting to receive a minimum 2:1. You’ll also have 340 UCAS points across your top three A-Levels (excluding General Studies). A strong communicator with great organisational skills and a real passion for IT, you’ll want to know more about how technology can make a real difference to business.

You’ll need to be fully prepared to travel as client projects could take you anywhere in the country – or even the world – though you will be aligned to a base at one of our main office locations in either Edinburgh, London, Manchester or Newcastle.

“I completed Accenture’s Summer Vacation Scheme after my second year of university and really enjoyed the programme. I was really impressed with the people I met, the quality of work we do and the results we drive for our clients. It made my decision to join Accenture quite easy when I was offered a permanent graduate role at the end of the scheme.
I spent my summer placement on a large public service client based in Southend. It was a Programme Management Organisation (PMO) role and a really interesting learning curve as I got a bird’s eye view of the whole project, rather than a deep, narrow view of one area.
I was surprised by the variety of things you can do at Accenture, when I did my internship, I thought every role would be kind of the same. But I think when you actually start working here and explore a number of areas you can go into here it’s quite surprising. The role I’m doing now is an internal sales focused role and it’s completely different to what I thought I would be doing but I’m really enjoying it.
Accenture is such a huge organisation that there are so many different areas for you to find your niche or find your interest. Even if one role is not right you might be surprised by the fact that there’s another role which is exactly what you want to do.”
APPLICATION AND ONLINE TEST
The first part of the application process is to fill out an application form which includes an online situational judgement test. You’ll give us details of your experience and education, and attach your CV. In the test you'll be presented with a variety of realistic situations that you may face in your role at Accenture, and you’ll need to choose from a range of responses to demonstrate what you feel would be the most effective solution. We’re interested in measuring a set of behaviours here, which are critical in order to succeed with us. You will be automatically directed to complete this when you click on the apply link.
You will be invited to complete a short digital interview, which you can do at a time and location convenient to you. You’ll need a webcam, either integrated or plug-in on your laptop or PC. This stage of the interview process will cover your understanding of our business and services, and assess your core skills and competencies which are essential to success in the role. Should you be invited to compete the digital interview you will be sent full details on what to expect and how to prepare prior to your interview.
If you are successful at interview stage, you will then be invited to attend a half-day session in our London office, where you will take part in a group exercise, and a final 1:1 interview.
