What I do

I joined the Proposal Management Analyst Graduate programme because I am extremely passionate about working with people and wanted to understand the end-to-end proposal management process of complex technology deals. This role allows me to experience how deal teams collaborate, come together, and win business for Accenture while developing my own skills and knowledge in a technology as well as a strategic, and commercial aspect.

Prior to joining Accenture in my current role, I gained experience working with business development and commercial teams. Although my experience was beneficial, this is not required to start in the role of a Proposal Management Analyst at Accenture. Starting the role, I was thrilled to be able to get some hands-on experience fairly soon and actively contribute to deals after my induction period. The transition from induction to providing generic content for deal teams to coordinating proposals for deal teams was paced to allow me to expand my skills and knowledge along the way.

What I enjoy most about the role is working with such a diverse range of stakeholders from different areas within Accenture and learning about how we create innovative and winning proposals at Accenture. This allows me to appreciate the depth and breadth which Accenture offers to its clients by creating 360-degree value, how we put into practice our One Accenture approach, and the emphasis and focus on our own as well as our client’s sustainability.

Beyond my role I am currently training to be a mental health ally. Mental health is something I personally feel passionate about and I look forward to joining our global network of mental health allies soon.

A day in my life

As a Proposal Management Analyst, I coordinate with all stakeholders in the deal team, am responsible for maintaining the Proposal Response Plan, and supporting the preparation of the proposal deliverables. Beyond that, I contribute to best practices for the Pursuit Services Team by supporting team initiatives.

A typical day will start with a deal call where all stakeholders of a deal team are present and discuss the status of the proposal response plan. The outcome of the daily status call will generally determine further actions for the day for all stakeholders. The proposal management analyst will outline pending actions for the deal team, facilitate further meetings as necessary, and coordinate inputs for the proposal from the deal team, or request additional resources needed for the deal.

This role is the ideal starting point for anyone interested in a career in Proposal Management at Accenture. You are an integral part of the deal team from day 1 and take on more responsibilities as you learn, develop, and progress.
