As a team:

The UK & Ireland Comms, Media & Technology (CMT) Sales Team is responsible for originating, selling, and closing deals at new and existing clients operating within the CMT industry group. We are a market-leader and work with the largest, fastest-growing and most-innovative organisations, comprising a diverse mix of global enterprise and emerging B2B/B2C companies across Telecommunications, Media, Entertainment, Gaming, Software/SaaS, High Tech, Social Media and e-Commerce.

It is a dynamic team made up of Sales Leads and Deal/Bid Managers who lead and support opportunities that often combine the full breadth of Accenture service offerings. This is an exciting and vibrant team who bring to bear the best of sales at Accenture within a team environment that positively encourages fast-growth and promotion.

What responsibilities will you have?

  • Sales Origination: Proactively find, shape, and transact sales opportunities, aligning Accenture’s value proposition to the strategic ambitions of our CMT clients.

  • Sales Execution: Manage sales across the full opportunity lifecycle, including setting the sales strategy, seeking qualification, facilitating approvals internally, creating value propositions and submitting proposals, shaping client pitches, participating in negotiations, and closing opportunities. These deals can vary in size and complexity, but typically you will work on opportunities that are multi-million $ in value.

  • Relationship Management: Proactively own, develop, and manage relationships with key buyers. This might be as part of an established account alongside a Client Account Lead, or by yourself at new, target clients.

  • Collaboration: Orchestrate and manage local/global teams from across all of Accenture and our broader network of ecosystem partners, ensuring we are bringing our best capabilities and solutions to our clients.

  • Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Manage your individual sales/CRM pipeline meticulously, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely deal closures.

  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Proactively research and stay informed about industry trends, competitor insight and recent news surrounding our clients.

  • Mentorship & Management: Develop junior talent within the sales team through active coaching.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Experience creating, and leading strategic sales opportunities, ideally with a track-record of shaping deals that are multi-million $ in value.

  • Experience of selling into relevant CMT industries or clients is desirable. If not, ability to demonstrate knowledge of, and a willingness to learn more about the sector.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Resourcefulness to take initiative and seek out answers and solutions to problems by yourself.

  • Strong business and commercial acumen, with the ability to lead commercial and contract negotiations. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of different commercial concepts and principles, for example, P&L, cash flow, pricing mechanisms. You should be able to understand how different commercial terms can benefit the client and impact the Accenture internal business case.

  • Adaptability and flexible to manage multiple competing demands at any one time.

  • Exposure to developing client relationships at a variety of levels within mid-market and enterprise organisations.

  • Experience collaborating with industry ecosystem partners.

  • Willingness to build your network internally and externally.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distil information into impactful and succinct summaries for client proposals and internal communications.

  • Curiosity to learn. You are not expected to be an expert on all of Accenture’s offerings, however, you must have the desire and ability to identify new client opportunities and how Accenture’s capabilities can address these.

  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and CRM tools.
