V&A (M&A) Tax Manager - EMEA

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Accenture EMEA tax team working primarily in the V&A function. This function is a key part of the Tax Team and provides the opportunity to work with all members of the EMEA and wider Accenture Global Tax Team. The role will focus primarily on the execution of V&A deals and providing integration support. You will be working closely with other members of the Tax Team as well as other key functions such as Corporate Development, Legal, Controllership and Treasury.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Leading the tax due diligence on V&A deals with support of external advisors, (who in most cases perform the due diligence), to scope and manage the deal. This includes management of external advisors.
Understanding the tax risks identified during due diligence and communicating those effectively to tax (Area Tax, Tax Accounting) and non-tax (Corporate Development, Legal, HR) stakeholders within the business.
Working with external advisors to provide tax input into the SPA.
Providing tax support on post-acquisition integration, which includes co-ordination of the post-acquisition integration step plan, tax merger or business transfer support, cross border contract reviews and working collaboratively with key integration workstreams such as Controllership, Legal and HR.
Supporting the EMEA V&A Tax Lead on key internal tax projects that are likely to be multi-jurisdictional and / or multi-workstream.
Qualifications
Key skills required:
Some experience with V&A (M&A) tax.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
The ability to continually re-prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment.
A desire to work collaboratively with personnel both within and outside of tax.
This role will report to the EMEA V&A Tax Lead for Europe, but the successful candidate will have full visibility to other senior members of the EMEA Tax Team. Although the day-to-day activities will concern the execution of V&A deals and integration support, there is opportunity and scope to be involved in initiatives and internal projects, and take on country level tax responsibility, providing exposure to wider personnel and contributing to the overall Global Tax Team.
