Network Engineer Specialist

Location: London (Position Based)

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

As a team:

You be required to perform “Business as usual” or Project implementations including design, build and system deployments, including troubleshooting, security and configuration changes.

This role may either be based from a multi-client delivery centre or at client sites for extended period of times when required.

As a Network Engineer, you will:

  • Manage firewall security via central management consoles such Panorama and/or FortiManager.

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity incidents (this includes routing, switching and security).

  • Build, configure and maintain network infrastructures as per best practices.

  • Identify service improvements to reduce risk and improve stability.

  • Producing high quality implementation scripts, test plans and change controls for all network changes.

  • Undertake necessary trainings and certifications on latest technologies.

In our team we are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with:

  • Working knowledge of network security including firewall configuration and security policy management.

  • Working knowledge of networking protocols and an understanding of EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and IP multicast. 

  • A network certification.  As a minimum CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP or equivalent.

  • Familiarity of multiple network vendors such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortigate and/or Juniper.

  • Working knowledge of Implementing and supporting large corporate or data centre networks preferably in a multi-client, service provider environment.


We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • Preparing low-level network designs in line with high level designs specified by Network Architects. 

  • Preparing and implementing network firewall security rules.

  • Creating, maintaining and reviewing operational and technical design documentation.

  • Analysis of network performance statistics using a variety of tools.  

  • Strong incident fault finding skills and experience.

Set yourself apart:

  • Experience in operational management of Palo Alto Panorama central console.

  • Experience with Palo Alto Prisma Access

  • Strong knowledge of Network security management.

  • Strong knowledge of IPSEC VPN Tunnels.

  • Knowledge of AWS cloud and native services.

  • Ability to develop network automation through use of scripts e.g. Python

  • Existing UK Government security clearance is required to work on UK Government contracts.
