We have made great progress in reducing our environmental footprint and supporting the transition to a low carbon economy, but now is the time to step up.

In the UKI, we seek to lead the way in driving meaningful change and taking decisive climate action to deliver on our recently announced enhanced global environmental goals.

We are looking for an Environment Specialist to join our team to lead and manage Accenture Environment Operations across the UK and Ireland. This role will require someone who is experienced in environment/energy management, at ease working independently, comfortable in interpreting comprehensive datasets, detail oriented, strong organisation and time management skills, a confident communicator, a self-starter, a relationship builder and adept at solving ambiguous problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in defining the UKI Environment strategy, drafting and working with appropriate stakeholders to define the key targets in our annual Environment Improvement Plan (EIP)

  • Responsible for delivery of Environment Operations components of team plan. Lead on delivering plan/tasks related to the role such as monthly data reporting, environment management system activities, external & internal audits and other key meetings.

  • Ownership of Accenture UKI Environment management system (EMS) and Energy management system (EnMS), ensuring that we are compliant to the ISO standards. Complete necessary EMS/EnMS activities during the financial year (FY) and drive continuous improvement efforts to evolve and improve our systems.

  • Lead external environment audits (ISO14001 & ISO50001), representing Accenture as the main auditee. Ensure that Accenture’s EMS/EnMS systems are compliant, prepare and communicate key documentation, lead in taking suitable actions to meet and improve our implementation of the ISO standard.

  • Conduct internal audits with internal Accenture auditors on our management systems throughout the year and lead in taking suitable follow-up actions.

  • Responsible for all environmental data reporting across our UKI locations portfolio and inputting these monthly into our environment management reporting tool.

  • Provide knowledge and support to the internal team for special strategic projects to further advance our agenda – such as our initiatives related to Accenture UKI achieving our global goals, ventures & acquisitions (V&A) process, building standards and environmental queries.

  • Support the Environmental Sustainability team in providing environmental knowledge / data in response to RFPs, RFIs or external assessments. Support in the creation of reusable assets to industrialise our approach to responding to increased business / client team demand.

  • Lead on driving energy efficiency efforts through monthly energy reviews with SMEs, lead on progressing smart meter installations across UKI locations portfolio and workplace improvements working with environmental champions in the operations team.

  • Lead on developing ideas and projects for continuous improvement to evolve, improve and streamline the way we do environment /energy management operations in the UKI

  • Conduct internal and external research to continuously build knowledge of current affairs related to sustainability, environmental landscape and UKI policy changes.

  • Develop and input content for stakeholder comms and presentations. Act as chair for governance meetings such as the all-hands calls with Environment Operations teams, annual EIP review etc.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in Environmental Management / Energy Management

  • Desirable to have existing experience with environment management software

  • Interest in responsible business, sustainability and environment operations

  • Experience of a corporate environment, preferably in a sustainability / Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

  • Data interrogation and analysis skills, comfortable with quantitative data

  • Self-motivated & reliable

  • Strong planning, organisation and time management skills

  • Analytical thinking and high attention to detail

  • Deliverable creation and meeting facilitation experience

  • Able to work with a high degree of ambiguity / autonomy
