Job Purpose

To assist and deputise for the Employment Tax Operations Lead in ensuring Accenture’s compliance with UK and Ireland Employment Tax legislation

Scope

The successful applicant will work as part of the Employment Tax Operations Team to provide tax compliance services to Accenture relating to employment tax matters, including but not limited to, Pay As You Earn (PAYE), social security, time and expenses, Section 985B Settlement, relocation payments, termination payments, acquisitions, rewards and benefits and share schemes.

As well as determining the correct tax treatment of expenses and benefits it is expected that the successful applicant will be able to identify key tax, process and policy issues and suggest, design, and implement appropriate solutions alongside the Employment Tax Operations Lead.

Principle Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Section 985B Settlement

The successful applicant will play a key role in transitioning our current excel based process for the tax review of expenses in Ireland to our new Software.

  • Tax review of employee expenses for inclusion in the Settlement each month
  • Tax review of accounts payable invoices for inclusion in the Settlement each month
  • Tax review of 3rd party and other costs for inclusion in the Settlement each month and annually
  • Produce reports for various stakeholders each month
  • Assist in preparing Settlement return on an annual basis
  • Maintain and improve our Settlement software on an ongoing basis

Payroll

  • Tax review of employee expenses for inclusion in the payroll each month

Relocation

  • Deputise for the Employment Tax Operations Lead with respect to tax review of relocation payments on an ongoing basis

Termination

  • Deputise for the Employment Tax Operations Lead with respect to tax review of termination payments on an ongoing basis

Share Schemes

  • Assist in preparing Share Scheme return on an annual basis

Central Mailbox

  • Manage our central mailbox including sending out tax queries where further information is required and responding to tax queries from the business

Business Processes

  • Document and maintain business processes
  • Test business process changes
  • Communicate business process changes

Projects

  • Assist the Employment Tax Operations Lead with ad hoc projects

UK

  • Assist the Employment Tax Operations Team with similar UK tasks where demand requires it

Key Relationships

  • Liaise with various internal and external groups.

 



Qualifications

Skills Requirements

Required

  • Good knowledge of Ireland Employment Tax legislation
  • Practice or in-house experience in Employment Tax compliance and reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify problems and produce fully formed solutions
  • Ability to document and maintain business processes efficiently

Preferred

  • Knowledge of UK Employment Tax legislation
  • Experience using Alteryx
  • Presentation Skills
  • Ireland Tax Technician qualification
