Role: Technology Delivery Lead (Utilities, Energy, Chemicals or CNR)

Location: London, Manchester or Edinburgh 

Travel: Up to 100%

Salary: £50,000 - £77,000 + Benefits

 

Your role is within the Accenture Technology Resources Software Delivery Practice. You will use your Technology Delivery and Project Management skills to help our Energy, Utilities, Chemicals and Natural Resources clients turn their strategy into reality; enabling them to adopt the next generation NewIT cloud-ready software architectures and platforms.

Our Technology Delivery Leads are technology project management experts. They lead the end to end delivery of high-quality, innovative and often large scale, technology solutions and projects. They lead teams every step of the way through the analyse, design, build, test and implementation delivery cycles; helping our clients be successful and changing the way their people and customers experience work, life and entertainment. Technology Delivery and Project Management skills are valued and recognised through our Technology Delivery Lead and Program, Project & Service Management programmes, respectively.


Your Industry & Functional skills:

Our team specialises in Resources clients (such as BP, Shell, British Gas, EDF Energy, Scottish Power, SSE, National Grid, Thames Water, Tata Steel, etc). Therefore, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals and Natural Resources industry backgrounds are preferred. 

Now is the perfect time for you to join the Accenture Technology Resources team, where you’ll:

  • Deliver high-quality, creative, large scale, technology solutions and projects through each stage of the delivery lifecycle
  • Develop and be responsible for the overall project plan from analyse to implementation; demonstrate accountability for delivery timescales, milestones, costs. resources and quality
  • Craft integrated project plans from individual project plans, showing the high-level flow of project milestones and dependencies across projects. Use the plan to rebalance work and manage variances across projects.
  • Review project plans with the client and handle client expectations throughout delivery; effectively manage all stakeholders and articulate status accurately
  • Assess project performance using metrics and RAID management; scrutinise risks and issues and manage impacts to teams, programmes, solutions, service delivery commitments and client relationships by owning mitigation plans

Technology Implementation Project Delivery responsibilities:

  • Monitor, control and assess quality; manage expectations, conduct milestone reviews, manage process performance, conduct continuous improvement and causal analysis activities. Continually assess and ensure that the values we are delivering are in line with client expectations.
  • Lead business and functional requirements definition and prioritization/scoping of requirements
  • Manage program/project’s financial, resource strategy and contingency
  • Disseminate best practices on solution positioning and delivery
  • Champion people development
  • Build and maintain high performance teams
  • Support pre-sales activities inclusive of participating in sales calls and proposal development

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 3 years of dynamic experience in project management, business analysis, and technology implementation in full life-cycle packaged software or custom software development engagements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic work environment and be creative within a team
  • Customer oriented and great at building client relationships
  • Enterprise Applications strategy, systems design, integration, implementation and management.
  • Previous experience in leading up an Application Functional team (Configuration, customization, Custom development) or Application Integration team (including data integration/data modelling)
  • 5 + years Consulting experience with medium to large consulting firms focusing on Enterprise Applications related consulting (solution architecture, storage, SaaS, multi-tenant computing, large scale computing environments, executive level sales support experience in consulting/professional services).
  • Experience leading multi-shore projects
  • PMP and other project management certification preferred
