Accenture Break|Through Returners Programme

 

We would like to welcome you to our Accenture Break|Through Returners Programme - London 2019, providing a platform for experienced professionals to return to the workplace after a career break.

If you have a passion for technology and have been out of work for 2 years or more, we want to hear from you. You’ll get a taste of life at Accenture, refresh your existing soft skills and learn new technical skills and get to put it all into practice in a project based assignment.

Accenture Break|Through is a 10-week paid internship programme for experienced returning managers starting in mid-January 2019.   

 

What you will be doing?

 

During the first 5 weeks, we will provide you with comprehensive training which will equip you with a core skillset to be successful during your placement. You will also meet a wide-cross section of our Technology leadership team through regular engagement sessions focusing on hot industry topics and new IT technologies. We will also invite you to visit our Innovation Centre and Liquid Studios. All of this will give you a solid grounding in business and technology consultancy, as well as valuable commercial skills.

For the remaining 5 weeks, you’ll start on a project within one of our Technology Delivery teams. And you won’t just be shadowing others – you’ll be getting in the mix right from the beginning.

Throughout your Break|Through experience, we’ll make sure you have all the support you need with an experienced ‘mentor’ who will be on-hand throughout to offer mentorship and support. If you perform well and enjoy the experience, you will receive an offer to join us after you finish the programme.

What will you learn?

 

We will give you 5 weeks of training to help you to refresh your skills and return to work with a flourish.

·        The first two weeks will be focused on understanding Accenture and how we do business, and honing some of your softer skills such as your leadership, commercial acumen, relationship management, and interpersonal skills.

·        The final three weeks of your training will be focused on Technology skills training by exposing you to the New IT technologies and delivery methodologies, where you will be taught by experienced specialists in our business.

What are we looking for?

The Application Process

  

Step 1 - Application

 

Apply online by sending your CV with a brief overview of your experience, as well as a covering letter outlining why you're interested in the scheme

 

Step 2 – Telephone Discussion

 

Impress us with your application, and we'll ring you to know more about your motivation to join this scheme. During this conversation we'll take you through a series of questions that are designed to see if you've got the skills and attitude that you'll need for the role.  You may not have this kind of work experience, so try to think of examples from different areas of your life that demonstrate the skills we're looking for. Perhaps you've had a leadership position on a sports team or a school/social committee, or have organised a technology event or launched an app or a website for something you are passionate about. Do well in your Telephone discussion and we will allocate an Accenture Mentor who will support you throughout your journey from the next discussion to the completion of this programme.

Step 3 – Interview Afternoon

 

After successfully concluding your telephone discussion, you'll be invited to an afternoon at our London office where you'll meet members of our Technology and HR team in order to understand more about who we are and take part in 1:1 discussions and a short presentation so that we can see your skills and understand your passions further. If it looks like you’re a good match after the interview afternoon, we'll invite you to join the scheme.
