Technology Advisory is part of Accenture’s Technology Consulting Practice within Financial Services. We architect, plan, design, build and implement Cloud solutions for clients in the UK, Europe and around the globe, and provide expertise advice through their journey to cloud.


The Cloud Advisory service line assists clients in transforming and migrating their core infrastructure and application estate into private/public cloud services. We enable our clients deliver a cloud strategy and define the target state required to support the digital business, simplify operating models and driving significant cost savings. We do this by operating at the intersection of strategy and technology, providing an integrated consulting experience on our clients’ journey to cloud, and helping them navigate the increasingly complex regulatory and compliance landscape.


As a Manager or Senior Manager within the team, you will have the opportunity to lead a wide range of cloud functions, from helping our clients define their strategy through to the implementation of a transformation roadmap. You will lead delivery teams, bringing together our portfolio of businesses to bring the best of Accenture to the market.


You, as a Manager or Senior Manager, should always be relevant, bringing expertise and experience in Cloud Computing technology and solutions. We are looking for candidates to combine industry and technology relevance with strong delivery experience and capability specific to Financial Services. Our Managers and Senior Managers should be proactive in engaging with our clients and driving strategic decisions to help in the rotation to Cloud.


Managers and Senior Managers must be professionals who have an interest in how business processes work and interact, and have a commitment to grow and develop our practice. In addition, Managers and Senior Managers need to apply their skills in project and programme management while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of process, technology, and organisational change, constantly looking at ways of driving improvement in our processes, offerings, and strategies.


What responsibilities will you have?

  • Lead the delivery of cloud solution architecture consulting and supporting our clients’ transformation journey working closely with other cloud capability groups within Accenture
  • Applying financial services and Cloud Computing technology expertise to advise, change, transform and deliver outcomes that enable our clients to become high performing businesses with a strong focus on leadership, grow, develop and support cloud team members
  • Establish yourself as an FS cloud authority acting as an advisor to our clients helping them unlock their cloud potential
  • In addition to client advisory and delivery, lead business development activities helping to originate and bring together new opportunities to grow Accenture’s cloud business within FS
  • Contribute and participate in the Global Technology Advisory Cloud Strategy Hub to create points of view and thought leadership initiatives that are relevant to our client’s needs
  • Developing and presenting at industry conferences as an authority in the Cloud industry

What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • Can lead the solution design and planning of applications and data services on private and public cloud platforms, with primary focus on cloud ready / native solution delivery
  • Ability to articulate complex technical cloud challenges and designs to senior management and the business
  • Experience of designing cloud solutions for big data and analytics, high scalability and resilience, disaster recovery, high throughput and low latency
  • Can define the technical architecture (covering network,  Cloud IaaS services and Cloud PaaS services) for cloud solution including coverage of private and public cloud solutions, and the integration to legacy.
  • Can define and provide clear understanding of security and compliance principles and challenges within the cloud, and able to articulate this to senior management coupled with recommendations or solutions
  • Strong, proven experience of delivering transformational outcomes in conjunction with at least one CSP (covering AWS, GCP, MSFT) including IaaS and PaaS products and services
  • Contributor to industrialised and re-usable design patterns and architypes (by business domain and across key CSPs)
  • Can define data strategy and advise on risk positions relative to CSP (AWS, Microsoft, GCP) products/services, arch considerations and risk/reg. landscape (PII, DMZs/landing zones; hybrid arch). 
  • Can apply different regulatory frameworks to client plans
  • Can advise on third party cloud solutions e.g. Temenos on AWS; Murex on AWS as well as who these integrate into an existing client architecture. Will own campaign solutions for Accenture in the marketplace.
  • Can advise on the application of technologies to business needs (at a detailed level) including CSP focus (e.g. what does Azure Stack provide versus Microsoft Cloud for noSQL/Big Data).
  • Understanding the value proposition of Cloud with the desire and commitment to become a visionary leader
  • Experience working with security, networks and other technology platform teams
  • Comfortable working with both waterfall and agile methodologies and exposure across the full delivery lifecycle
  • Broad range of skills, including business insight, interpersonal, analytical and team working skills
  • A wealth of experience and a consistent record of working within a consultancy environment
  • Tried leadership and team management skills with ability to build, run and foster a strong, dynamic team environment
  • Ability to create Cloud solutions, carry out technical writing and presentations as well as report generation exposure

What academic qualifications do you need?

  • Must have, or be pursuing, certification with at least one Cloud Service Provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Pivotal, Oracle, IBM, Redhat OpenShift)
  • Bachelor's Degree attaining 2:1 or equivalent
