We work with clients to develop vision and strategy for their operations to match today’s complex and often ambiguous drivers of change: geopolitical and economic uncertainty, volatility, global competitiveness and increasing digital disruption.

Job Description


As a Supply Chain & Operations Senior Manager, your functional areas of focus will include:·

We typically work in teams of 3-5 people on projects of 10-16 weeks duration.  Our Strategy work is distinct from the other businesses in Accenture, and can also represent the front-end of a long-term transformation engagement which involves many aspects of the Accenture ecosystem through its lifecycle. 


A Supply Chain & Operations Professional:

  • Develops operational strategies by assessing the client’s business challenges, diagnosing root cause problems, running global benchmarks and recommending an approach leveraging Accenture assets:
  • Creates blueprints that define the future operating model
  • Reviews and shapes organisation designs for Operations and/or other functions
  • Analyses and models financial data to support large scale cost reduction programmes, utilising functional and cost category benchmarks, process definitions and enterprise value targeting tools
  • Helps clients improve their ability to drive business outcomes through digital planning, reporting, and analytics
  • Determines how clients can harness digital and emerging technology solutions to power their operational strategies (including via RPA, IoT, Blockchain, Analytics, AI)
  • Refines and optimises the client's ability to organise and analyse financial, operational and external information to create substantial shareholder value
  • Maintains an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, analytics, the COO ecosystem and broader marketplace
  • Establishes and strengthens client relationships with the COO, as well as CFO and Supply Chain executives
  • Contributes to thought leadership and leverages the skills of other strategists throughout the practice (Business Strategy, M&A, Technology Strategy and others) to enable cohesive delivery of strategic solutions

To achieve this, Accenture is seeking to recruit Senior Managers with strong advisory consulting experience.


Skill and Experience Requirements


As a Senior Manager, you will lead teams to formulate competitive agility and productivity strategies, while challenging historical perspectives to better align resources with mission critical objectives. You will provide actionable insights to the world's top organisations, helping them address priority C-suite issues with strategies they can execute with speed and at scale. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in working in Financial Services, Energy, Utilities and High-Tech (including Aerospace & Defence) is of particular interest, though experience in Communications, Media & Entertainment, Chemical & Natural Resources, Consumer Goods, Life Sciences and Logistics
  • Broad exposure to business operations, outside of core operations (e.g. Channel and Organisation Design, Technology and Innovation)
  • Ability to analyse complex client problems, understand financial performance links between operations, supply chain and corporate results and think strategically to create a benefit/business case
  • Digital/technology awareness including intelligent automation, IoT, blockchain and analytics
  • Ability to originate and support the origination of new work, and drive the sales process
  • Commercial management of consulting engagements
  • Leadership; the ability to easily establish trust-based relationships and gain valuable insights through collaboration and communication
  • Ability to form strong client relationships particularly at the senior levels
  • Strong strategic thinking and team building with a proven track record in driving business outcomes for large clients
  • Ability to structure ideas and solutions, to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to develop new concepts and break-through thinking
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
  • University degree (2:1 or higher)


  • Master’s in Business Administration or similar
  • CIMA Certificate or equivalent

Many of our consultants work on client engagements spread around UK and Europe, therefore you must be willing to travel and work away from home Monday to Friday as required.


All of our consulting professionals receive comprehensive training covering business acumen, technical and professional skills development.  You will also have opportunities to hone your functional skills and expertise in an area of specialisation.  We offer a variety of formal and informal training programmes at a number of levels to help you further acquire and build specialised skills. Learning takes place both on location and through formal training conducted online, in the classroom or in collaboration with company-acknowledged Subject Matter Experts.
