You will be joining the Accenture UK/I Test Practice which supports multiple industries and a broad range of services from strategic test consulting advice through to test delivery across all test disciplines.  Test and Quality Assurance are some of the highest growth areas within the IT service market, and are critical capabilities for delivering business change to support our clients.  Our Test Practice is at the forefront of driving new IT delivery methods such as agile and dev ops, and collaborates with many advanced technology vendors to utilise the latest tooling, AI and automation capabilities.

Your Role:
Quality engineering professionals utilize Accenture delivery assets to plan and implement quality initiatives to ensure solution quality throughout delivery. As an Automation Engineer, you will define and implement quality engineering strategies that support rapid application development with world-class levels of quality.
You will focus on all layers of the application stack with a quality engineering mindset, applying your knowledge of technical architecture and sound engineering practices to drive adoption of different quality activities at the appropriate layers of the application, and within the appropriate phases of the software development lifecycle.  Sample focus areas include code quality, coverage analysis, unit test automation, services layer test automation, functional/UI automation, service virtualization, continuous integration/continuous delivery, test-driven development and behavioral-driven development.
What responsibilities will you have?
As an Automation Architect/SDET, you will:
  • Implement automation tools, define and develop frameworks and design and deliver industry leading test automation solutions for our clients
  • Support DevOps implementations through delivery of CI aligned test automation
  • Support test automation assessments
  • Conduct tool analysis, make recommendation, and selection
  • Identify and analyze suitable opportunities within projects for test automation
  • Utilize efficient and effective processes and standards in order to continuously improve quality
  • Manage work efforts
  • Lead development of automation at all layers of the application stack
  • Working with development teams to help architect applications to support effective test automation
What skills & experience are we looking for?
  • Experience in Test Automation including planning, script development & maintenance
  • Experience working in software development with experience of both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following testing toolsets/frameworks:
    • Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Protractor, Selenium Grid/SauceLabs, Applitools
    • HP UFT, Rational Test Workbench, Borland Silk Test, MS Visual Studio
    • CA Application Test, Rational Integration Tester, Parasoft SOATest; SmartBear Ready!API
    • TDD: using jUnit, TestNG, other
    • BDD: using Cucumber/Gherkin, Geb/Spock, other.
    • SoapUI, SoapUI Pro, Postman, other
  • Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following:
    • Java / J2EE
    • Groovy, Python, Ruby
    • JavaScript
    • XML, JSON
    • C#, VB.NET, VBscript
  • Demonstrated experience with Continuous Integration, including two or more of the following build/deploy/version control tools:
    • Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, Maven, other
    • Git, Mercurial, Subversion, Stash, other
    • uBuild/uDeploy, UrbanCode, other
    • Grunt, Gradle, Gulp
    • MS TFS
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated understanding of application architectures
  • Demonstrated experience using TDD or BDD
  • Demonstrated experience with virtualization using CA Service Virtualization, HP Service Virtualisation, Rational Integration Server, Parasoft Virtualize or SmartBear Ready!API
  • Demonstrated experience with Nexus, Artifactory, NPM, Bower or similar
  • Demonstrated experience with Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
