The infrastructure Services Cloud practice is made up of hard-working individuals who strive to deliver transformational change to our clients' cloud infrastructure.  Through our holistic approach, we can optimise their underlying infrastructure technologies, enable the journey to the cloud, and cover all supporting operational processes and tools.


The Cloud practice aims to transform de-centralised and non-optimised computing facilities into high performance public and private clouds that can accommodate enterprise workloads.
We are looking for Senior Solution Architects, Senior Technical Architects and Delivery Leads with significant experience and expertise in private / public cloud, migrations to cloud and server and storage technologies to define and sell a vision of journey to the cloud to our clients.  Candidates must be able to position, architect and implement cost effective and flexible IT Infrastructures and combine these skills with business acumen and an appreciation of how to realise large scale transformation.  Our Cloud professionals have a primary skill focus on translating a business need into robust and integrated technology solutions.


What responsibilities will you have?


Key responsibilities include:

  • Solutioning, selling and/or leading the delivery of data centre build, consolidation and migration projects from initial assessment and high level design through to effective delivery.
  • Driving data centre and cloud technology strategy by articulating the business and industry drivers for adoption of cloud and developing transition roadmaps and implementation approaches.
  • Driving and reviewing data centre facilities and technology diagnosis and assessment activities.
  • Driving technology architecture and infrastructure design, build and test activities.
  • Driving and delivering application migration assessment, planning and execution activities.
  • Identifying business opportunities for using virtualisation, private or public cloud for technology-related improvements using benchmark data and supporting high-level cost benefits analyses.
  • Creation of proposal and presentation material and delivering these to senior IT stakeholders.
  • Leading business case development and TCO analysis activities to convince client executives of the value of executing a course of action to improve business performance and value.
  • Contributing to re-useable asset development and harvesting within the practice.
  • Working with clients across a variety of industry sectors.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • Exceptional business acumen, interpersonal and analytical skills with credentials in strong relationship building, sales, team leadership, programme management and senior stakeholder management.
  • Experience of working in a technology consulting environment with multiple enterprise clients (global organisations or FTSE 100 companies) to deliver value and business benefits using data centre and cloud technologies.
  • Proven experience of influencing key senior stakeholders within multiple IT organisations.
  • Experience of complex business case and financial modelling development.
  • Proven success in leading large multidiscipline and/or multinational teams.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate fluently with infrastructure, technical, architectural and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated interest in professional development, such as professional certification or postgraduate study.

All candidates must be willing to be London or Manchester based, but offer full mobility (i.e. be prepared to work away from home at client locations Monday to Friday as required).

Ideally you'll also have some of the following;

  • Proven skills in shaping, selling and leading the delivery of infrastructure solutions from initial assessment and qualification through to effective delivery.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering data centre or cloud strategies / application migration approaches, implementation roadmaps and business cases focused on business priorities and benefits.
  • Proven experience designing private cloud platforms including virtualised server, storage and network elements as well as orchestration and automation capabilities.
  • Proven experience in server and storage consolidation, rationalisation and re-platforming.
  • Demonstrated technical depth in multiple technologies: private / public / hybrid cloud, Amazon Web Services, Azure, OpenStack, VMware, networking, security, storage, compute, OS, database, workplace technologies, application integration.
  • Experience of service management concepts and frameworks, including ITIL.
  • Experience of cloud operations and support, including in infrastructure outsourcing arrangements.
