Role Description:


Working with the UKI FS Marketing Lead and the UKI Banking Practice Lead you will be responsible for developing and implementing the UKI Banking marketing strategy.  Based on the business objectives you will develop, implement and measure marketing campaigns and activities, using a mix of marketing channels to showcase provocative, insightful content around a focused set of client-relevant issues.


Focusing on a content-led strategy you will help us to lead in the new by challenging traditional marketing channels to ensure we integrate digital and social marketing methods to develop, implement and measure marketing campaigns and activities - to showcase provocative, insightful content around a focused set of client-relevant issues, helping us to establish a clear, differentiated voice in the market.


By packaging and promoting our point of view across an integrated mix of traditional and digital marketing channels, we can enable client facing professionals to engage clients in conversations around issues crucial to the growth of their businesses. The overall goals are to create deeper understanding of Accenture’s unique capabilities, help articulate Accenture’s role in the broader UKI FS industry ecosystem and establish a preference for Accenture in top FS market segments and with key banking institutions.


Candidates must be marketing professionals with experience in developing marketing plans and delivering creative, integrated marketing programs across multiple channels such as thought leadership, digital, social media and events to:

  •     create engagement and increase work with current clients
  •     open doors and build relationships with new clients
  •      create demand in new market segments
  •      help grow market share through strategies that support customer acquisition, engagement, loyalty, and cross-selling.


Ideally you will have an understanding of financial services as well as digital and business-to-business marketing, preferably in a professional services context. You will be pragmatic and self-assured in your ability to recommend the right marketing approach. You will be proactive, highly organised, a self-starter and experienced in developing content-based marketing campaigns, including the ability to help write content such as blog and social media posts.  You must be a team player, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and adept at building senior stakeholder relationships. 


As well as the UKI FS Marketing Lead, you will work closely with Accenture’s Banking practice MDs, the Insurance lead marketer, the Global Banking marketing lead and the relevant UKI Services marketers (Digital, Technology, Innovation and Strategy).  As a member of the broader Accenture Marketing & Communications team, you will collaborate with members of the UKI and other geographic marketing teams; internal comms, research & insights team and media relations, to deliver market impact and support an integrated, consistent client experience. 


In this fast paced role you need to utilise your strong project management skills, stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.


Key Responsibilities


  • ·     Responsible for the planning execution and measuring banking specific marketing campaigns to help build awareness, generate sales leads and develop senior client relationships, including: events, digital, social, corporate hospitality, sponsorships, conferences, advertorial, video, collateral, thought leadership development
  • ·     Recommend relevant marketing activities to meet business objectives and create compelling marketing initiatives which will attract senior client executives
  • ·     Develop and/or work with agencies to develop web-based assets, e.g. infographics
  • ·     Manage the pipeline of, and help in the production of locally relevant thought leadership/ research/ points of view
  • ·     Mange the Banking Marketing budget and associated campaign costs
  • ·     Provide writing, editing and creative support for projects within the marketing programs
  • ·     Roll-out key global banking campaigns across multiple channels, tailoring to the UKI market
  • ·     Work with local geographic markets team to plan and execute marketing programs, in accordance with Global & EALA FS Marketing strategies and focus
  • ·     Leverage best practices across Accenture to ensure projects are best in class
  • ·     Administrative roles include maintaining global templates/calendars, accurate and segmented client data, tracking sales leads from marketing events, along with the timely keeping of records for the procure to pay process, budgets and metrics
  • ·     Provide strong internal client service
  • ·     Ensure that all global marketing policies and procedures are followed
  •        This role will require people management skills - managing the Capital Markets Specialist and/or administration support

you will be an experienced marketing manager with previous experience working in a professional services firm. You are highly organised, a self-starter and experienced in developing and executing both traditional (events, sponsorships, conferences, direct mailings) and digitally-enabled tactics, as part of a B2B content-based marketing campaign. You must be a team player, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and adept at building senior stakeholder relationships.  

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • Proven experience in developing marketing strategies and plans, general and digital marketing campaign strategy, program planning, implementation and measuring ROI.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in often an intense and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to both write and edit Blogs, event invites and marketing collateral
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
  • A team player, able to collaborate and communicate with other marketing professionals in our extended marketing team around the world.
  • Skilled at managing resources to effectively achieve marketing goals, including budgets, internal resources and third-party suppliers.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and an ability to bring new and fresh ideas and concepts 
  • Experience with or similar sales/marketing/support tracking systems.
  • Experience in developing and managing events, sponsorship and conferences
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Understanding and ability to originate and apply marketing concepts
  • Strong budget management and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Passion for strategic, creative, well-executed marketing programs
  • Strong implementation orientation and focus on delivering ROI.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in marketing, business development and/or marketing communications roles
  • Marketing qualification from a recognised body, e.g. University, CIM, IDM, CAM
  • Professional Services, Financial Services or business-to-business marketing experience is preferable
  • Attention to detail, strong client relationship and database management 
  • Professional attitude and service orientation; team player
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
