A world-leading organisation, we provide consultancy and technology expertise to some of the biggest names in just about every industry you can imagine. Clients come to us to make more of their business opportunities, adapt successfully to change, put ideas into action and gain – or sustain – a competitive edge. We work with 4,000 companies and 94 of the Fortune Global 100. As a growing firm we need talented graduates like you to join us.
Technology Industrial Placement
Our Technology Industrial Placement has been designed specifically for budding technology specialists. You will apply to join one of three areas, Software Engineering, Technology Architecture or Client Delivery. It’s a 12-month programme and starts with a formal induction and a four-week training programme where you’ll study technologies including Java, Digital, Dev Ops and testing. We’ll then assign you to a project where you’ll build your skills on the job based on which programme you have applied for.
By the end of the year, you could be ICTTech-certified – you’ll certainly have gained some valuable experience and hopefully have an offer to join us when you graduate.
What’s in it for you
As well as the prospect of a great career centred around improving the way the world works and lives, you can look forward to a competitive salary and other benefits. These may include generous holiday allowance, an interest-free season ticket loan, subsidised gym membership and a personal laptop. You’ll also be part of a vibrant graduate community with training, support and social events.
What we’re looking for
This placement is undertaken in the third year of a four-year course and you will need to apply in your second year. You may be studying towards a degree in a subject such as computer science or another technology-focused discipline, although we also welcome applications from students with maths/science/engineering related bachelor degrees. We do consider all degree backgrounds if you can demonstrate a passion for technology.
You’ll have a real passion for technology and how it can be used. This may even have led you to gain exposure in programming languages such as C++, SQL, Java, Visual Basic or .NET, and operating systems such as Unix. Overall, we’re looking for a willingness to try new things, a desire for self-improvement and a strong work ethic.
Where you’ll work
You will be based in our Newcastle office. However, we may ask you to work in other UK locations during the 12-month period, so flexibility is required.
What is the application process?
Step 1 - Application
Apply online by submitting your CV and completing an online form.
Step 2 – Digital Video Interview
Impress us with your application, and we'll invite you to take part in a digital video interview using the HireVue tool. During this we'll take you through a series of questions that are designed to see if you've got the skills and attitude that you'll need for the role.
Step 3 - Assessment Centre
Do well in your video interview and you'll be asked along to an assessment centre, where you’ll take part in activities such as a face-to-face interview and a group exercise.
