Salary: £60-70,000 PA dependent on experience
Location: Chesterfield
Travel: 25%

What responsibilities will you have?
  • To ensure that Accenture’s administration of the Clients' Pension Scheme, and hence the obligations of the Trustee, is compliant with the Pensions Act 2004 and tPR guidelines in respect of risk and internal controls
  • To provide Compliance advice and monitoring to ensure that the administration of the The Clients' Pension Scheme is compliant with the scheme rules, the legal requirements of the Pensions Act, tPR requirements and guidance and such instructions as provided from time to time by either The Client Trustee or The Client in writing
  • To provide risk advice and oversight in order to establish and maintain a risk register as well as to regularly review and challenge the internal control framework
  • Ensure compliance, audit and govern the internal controls applied within Accenture under the objective of ensuring that The Clients' Pension Scheme is administered and managed: In accordance with scheme rules, in accordance with such instructions in writing from either The Clients' Trustee or The Client and in accordance with the requirements of the law and guidance stated by tPR
  • To draw up, seek approval for and execute a compliance monitoring plan
  • As part of the compliance monitoring plan, carry out regular testing of automated calculations and manual calculations on an ongoing basis ensuring compliance with scheme rules and requirements of the law
  • Provide progress reports against the plan to the Pensions Leadership Team and ensure that where corrective action is required, guidance is provided to the business to ensure that the Scheme remains compliant with its obligations.
  • Identify any gaps or themes identified to be analysed and reported to the Pensions Leadership Team
  • Maintain a log of compliance breaches and errors
  • Provide analysis of themes and recommendations for corrective action
  • Ensure that regulatory or legal issues that require escalation to the Trustee, The Client or tPR are identified, reported and managed in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Manage changes to guidance and regulation from the tPR as well as industry best practice
  • Ensure that the Pensions Leadership Team is aware of material future change and recommend changes to policy and procedures
  • Maintain The Clients risk register, engage management in a program of continuous risk assessments and assist management in assessing the adequacy of the control framework in place
  • Provide advice and guidance on improvements to the control environment and industry best practice
  • Provide regular risk reporting to the Pensions Leadership Team
  • To track the status of agreed management action arising from compliance monitoring work and risk assessments as well as undertake follow up validation on closed recommendations as required
  • Review compliance and risk policies and procedures to ensure that they are in line with existing rules, law, guidance and best practice
  • To ensure independence of the role within the Pension Services team
  • Liaison with Accenture Global Risk & Compliance to ensure consistent delivery of policies and procedures making use of best practice
  • Managing the risk and compliance relationships of external clients
  • Delivering reports and attending meetings in support of that objective
  • Experience of undertaking risk and compliance reviews within the financial services industries primarily in pensions

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Extensive pensions experience required with significant focus on audit execution
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Interpret Client Scheme rules, current legislation and regulatory framework
  • Experience of working at a senior level is essential
  • Quality Assurance Core Training (desirable)
  • The ability to write and communicate on complex pension technical matters to all levels of understanding and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a high volume administration environment
  • Able to manage workflow to meet client SLAs
  • High degree of problem solving skills and methodologies
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

What academic qualifications do you need?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and or equivalent
  • PMI qualified (APMI) or professional audit qualification preferred
