What responsibilities will you have?
Working as a consultant, you will apply and build your core business, technology and industry expertise helping to deliver world-class solutions that enable our clients to become high performance businesses.
Consultants must be professionals who have an interest in how business processes work and interact. In addition, consultants need to apply their skills in project and programme management while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of technology and organisational change.
Required to have a strong working knowledge of the Banking industry and/or the functional areas they serve (for instance payments, credit, current account, savings, retail or business banking), Consultants in banking will be responsible for:
  • Applying banking industry and technology expertise to advise, change, transform and deliver outcomes that enable our clients to become high performing businesses
  • The management of multiple streams of work – with a focus on shaping solutions and coordinating work across multiple streams, ensuring a sensible, workable outcome
  • Alignment of change delivery across both business and IT teams to ensure successful designs, solutions or implementations
  • Advising on how agile methods of working help clients transform the way and the speed with which they deliver change
  • Articulating key messages, risks and issues to senior management and client stakeholders
  • Creation of deliverables and tangible outputs, including roadmaps and plans, approach and framework documents, and reports
  • Actively contributing to our community and clients as practitioners, who can think logically, solve problems and engage others
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Individuals will have experience of working within a retail or business banking environment with an understanding of customer channel, transaction processing (e.g. payments), back office operations and technology. Allied to this we are seeking candidates with broad banking industry knowledge including current trends, challenges, market dynamics and the competitive landscape
Candidates should be either from an industry (retail or business banking) or a consulting background with experience of project management, and / or of implementing IT solutions  or redesigning processes, in some of the following areas: branch, call centre, payments, credit, finance, and back-office operations. Equally important is an understanding of the full life-cycle IT implementation coupled with experience of the inherent business challenges and processes within these areas. We want Consultants in banking to demonstrate:
  • That they understand and have a point of view on key trends within banking such as the Payments Services Directive (PSD2), and the impact that open banking could have on the industry
  • Experience of digital delivery and how it is transforming the way banking clients engage with their customers 
  • Depth of experience of delivering change projects within banking, including launching new mortgage products or services; banking product launch, customer service launch or platform management
  • A strong professional presence and an ability to demonstrate problem solving, negotiation, consultation and influencing skills
  • An ability to thrive in a team environment and develop deep and ensuring client relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • To meet our growing demand, we are expanding our team and are focusing on those who can, in addition, demonstrate advisory and delivery experience in one or more of the following niche skill areas:
    • Cyber Security
    • Robotics
    • RPA / Cognitive
    • Temenos T24
    • Omiga software skills
    • Open Banking (PSD2)
What academic qualifications do you need?
  • Bachelor's Degree (Technical/Engineering/Computer science degree is preferred) 2:1 or international equivalent
