Role Summary

Role Description

We are looking for a Capital Markets Technology Architect to join our growing Technology Consulting capability.  You will work with our Investment Banking clients to transform their businesses using a combination of your enterprise architecture, functional and technical architecture and industry skills and experience to define the next generation solutions to increase market share, improve performance and cost efficiency, meet regulatory requirements and improve business analytics and management information.
As a Technology Consulting practitioner within our Capital Markets practice you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading the definition and design of solution architectures, conducting the analysis of alternative architectures and creating architectural standards
  • Assessment of Investment Banking technology architecture, analysis of issues and recommendations
  • Development of functional and technical solutions across a range of asset classes and domains including front office, post trade, finance and risk, market and reference data, infrastructure, front end GUI and portals, server side, database, internal and external interfaces.
  • Defining a solution's cost-of-ownership, and promoting a clear and consistent business vision through technical architectures
  • Interaction with senior management levels at a client and/or within Accenture, which involves negotiating or influencing on significant matters.
  • Management of large teams and/or work efforts at a client or within Accenture
  • Analysis of technology and associated operational processes, with a view to recommending designs & strategies that will improve service, lower costs, and prevent unforeseen operational issues
  • Provide support for sales and solution architects; assist in creating proposals, including solution alternatives and the identified cost of ownership for individual architectures
  • Continue to actively build our client base and support requests for advisory services
  • Working with alliance partners to create compelling solutions for clients
  • Lead Practice and capability building initiatives – community development, training and mentoring, increase awareness of key trends and technologies, training initiatives, contribute to viewpoints and white papers

Technical Skill Requirements

  • Deep experience of technology design and implementation experience in an IT organisation in the Financial Services industry
  • Knowledge of architecture methodologies, standards, frameworks and tools
  • In-depth understanding of front to back functional and technical architectures for investment banks
  • In-depth experience of building out custom and/or packaged applications
  • Experience of data and analytics technologies including relational and or NoSQL data solutions (Oracle, Sybase, SQLServer, Hadoop, Cassandra, Spark, Hive, Qlikview, Tableau)
  • Hands-on delivery or involvement in large, major IT change programmes
  • Experience with market infrastructure and interfaces e.g. exchange/Clearing Houses/ ECNs, SEFs, Affirmation Platforms over native protocols, FIX, FIXML, FpML, SWIFT etc.
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure and platform technologies

Professional Skill Requirements

  • Client relationship management and ability to communicate with clients at various levels – CIO, CTO, technology leads and implementation teams, business and operations stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand clients' needs and expectations, as well as alternative architectures and trends
  • Experience leading large, complex, multi-faceted design initiatives providing the linkage between business, technology and operations
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: market data, pricing, sales, trade processing and risk management, collateral management, settlements, confirmations, accounting, risk control, treasury
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically to solve problems and clarify scope and objectives
  • Leading teams of 50+ resources across multiple geographies
  • Understanding of the overall delivery lifecycle and supporting methodologies and processes
  • Experience of working within and Investment Banking environment with an understanding of the cash, securities and derivatives markets and processes in a direct or consulting capacity
