New Team, New Adventures
By: Una Kunhya

It has been a rather long time since my last Accenture blog which I can only apologise for! A lot has happened for me since the start of the new year so I just wanted to give you a snippet about my current role.

Firstly, after a wonderful three months in the Communications, Media and Technology (CMT) global marketing team, in January I have moved to the UKI Sponsorships and Hospitality team as part of my rotations within the Marketing and Communications Internship.

For the past three months I have been helping manage Accenture's relationship with some of the UK's leading arts, cultural and sporting organisations. The main project I have been working on is the RBS 6 Nations.

Accenture is the Official Technology Partner of the RBS 6 Nations. Facilitated by sporting excellence: the tournament provides an international platform which enables us to showcase our work in the digital space.

I never expected when I started the internship that I would be working on a project which involved such international exposure. The highlight of this experience has to be running Hospitality days at our suite in Twickenham for the England matches alongside Rugby legends such as Ben Kay, Will Greenwood and Scott Hastings.

I also have been helping take Accenture Digital’s mixed reality proof-of-concept to clients and internal events across the country. Although it has not always been easy, for example, arranging logistics with our major stakeholders I have learnt how to work flexibly and overcome unexpected challenges.

However, it is just not about the clients at Accenture there were loads of ways for employees to get in on the RBS 6 Nations fun. I assisted in organising employee competitions to win tickets to matches and exclusive signed merchandising. Nothing beat making someone’s Monday morning a bit brighter by letting them know they’ve won tickets to an upcoming match!

This is just a small portion of work I have been doing during my time within the UKI Sponsorships and Hospitality team but I hope it gives you an insight into part of my current project.
