About Niamh

Born to Irish parents and raised largely in francophone Belgium, Niamh McKenna is a versatile leader who studied social and political science, developing an interest in the philosophy of Wittgenstein before joining Accenture. Her varied start in life prepared her well for a multifaceted career across various parts of Accenture's business, including consumer-focused businesses like retail. After many happy years in retail Niamh continued her globetrotting and moved to Japan in 2013 as COO of Accenture's health and public sector business.

This diverse background has equipped her well to lead Accenture's health business in the UK. She says there are many parallels and lessons that can be applied to health with the crossover from consumer to patient. Niamh combines her technology and client-facing experience as she works to improve the UK's health system. She is passionate about client interaction and helping them with the challenges of better harnessing technology.

Outside her work, Niamh is proudly bringing up two energetic sons. She tries to keep up with them, with one half marathon under her belt already and others planned, she aims to be fitter at 50 than she was at 40. Niamh has also learned Japanese and makes complex and beautiful quilts to relax.
