Our Skills to Succeed initiative puts technology at the heart of programmes which aim to improve employment and entrepreneurship outcomes at scale. Our free, interactive online learning tools; the Skills to Succeed Academy and Accenture Digital Skills, provide access to training designed specifically to support people with building their skills and confidence, empowering them to enhance their employability and broaden their career prospects.

The need

Technological advancements and new ways of working have rapidly transformed the way people work and live. This has resulted in an increased need to prepare job-seekers with the essential skills required to stay relevant in today's job market.

 

With overall unemployment rates continuing to rise, greater focus is needed on support for disadvantaged people to build their confidence and skills to apply for jobs or start a business.

Our approach

The Skills to Succeed online learning programmes aim to address the digital and employability soft skills gap through online training, in line with Accenture’s global Skills to Succeed strategy. To do this we developed two free training tools.

The Skills to Succeed Academy offers 36 bitesize, interactive modules to pick and choose from, preparing jobseekers for the entire journey of choosing the right career, finding a job and succeeding in the workplace.

The Academy includes quizzes and innovative simulations, using relatable characters to provide a realistic learning environment. Learners can practice real-life scenarios, such as a job interview, instantly seeing the impact of their responses.

Accenture Digital Skills is a suite of collaborative courses hosted on a social learning platform - FutureLearn, designed to support jobseekers gain the digital skills they need to stand out in today’s job market.

The Digital Skills courses aim to help learners understand the importance of digital skills and its pervasiveness across industries and jobs. Other course topics include the importance of Social Media and Artificial Intelligence.

Through our learning programmes we aim to build the confidence of job seekers, empowering them to take ownership of their career journey, whether they are looking to reskill, change careers, or apply for their first job.

We work together with a network of partner organisations across welfare to work, government, NGOs and education sectors, to expand our reach to disadvantaged communities, helping thousands of job seekers build the necessary skills to thrive.

The Skills to Succeed Academy is helping to address UK unemployment by empowering job seekers to build their confidence and skills to make career choices and succeed in the workplace.

Accenture Digital Skills plays a key role in educating people to find or create employment within the digital economy and highlights the importance of acquiring and upskilling in digital skills.
