The Barcelona Innovation Centre has been at the forefront in helping clients from around the globe and across industries under the umbrella of intelligent operations for the last 15 years. Our team is composed of over 90 data scientists and Data Engineers with specialized background in Supply Chain & Operations, 20% of which are PhD’s in the areas of Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or Statistics. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer. A talented, fun, collaborative person willing to bring added knowledge to our Healthcare Research and Innovation Analytics Group. If you thrive working with top clients in the evolution of their data & AI journey… then, we’d like to meet you!
H&LS AAI EU – working for our top clients in the healthcare practice in the evolution of their core systems and the implementation of new digital architectures. Our clients are belonging to the Health and Life Science industries and our services/projects can be transformational for all the company or focused on a particular area (R&D, Precision Health, Marketing, Patient services, etc.)
Data scientists drives new data insights to uncover business opportunities & revenue streams. The role has a firm understanding of statistics and data visualization for communication, as well as an understanding business growth areas & how to utilize important data. The role is also responsible for identifying new analytic trends/data needs and repeatable analytic solutions. Works with key stakeholders to generate hypotheses and create analytic models that answer impactful business questions.
Use Python and the vast array of AI/ML libraries to analyse data and build statistical models to solve specific business problems.
Improve upon existing methodologies by identifying new data sources, testing model enhancements, and fine-tuning model parameters.
Collaborate with researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and deliver proof-of-concept solutions quickly.
Contribute directly to the design and development of automated selection systems.
Track the performance of and maintain models once they are deployed into production.
Collaborate with data engineers to design and execute replicable data acquisition and utilization processes.
Turn ideas into actionable designs and deliver solutions to end users and be able to persuade internal and external clients
Communicate verbally and in writing to business customers and the leadership team with various levels of technical knowledge as well as sharing insights and recommendations
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
Fluency with scripting languages such as Python and data manipulation/analysis libraries such as Scikit-learn and Pandas.
Experience in ML modelling
Experience in the end-to-end lifecycle of a DS project: data gathering, pre-processing, modelling, evaluation, and deployment
Experience in Python (plus) or R
Experience in SQL
Experience in Cloud (AWS plus)
Experience leading large-scale data projects and pushing production quality code, including deploying and assessing efficacy of a wide array of Machine Learning models in production environments.
Experienced in handling large data sets and databases using SQL in a business environment.
Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to scientists, engineering teams, and business audiences.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, solutions- and research-oriented group with several ongoing concurrent projects and associated deadlines.
Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, ability to self-motivate, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Experience in health analytics
Experience in digital health / precision health , e.g. ideally:
ML for genomic sequence
AI techniques to understand genotypes and phenotypes in existing diseases, improve the quality of patient care, enable cost-effectiveness, etc.
Some experience in dealing with business stakeholders
