"What I like the most about Accenture is the culture!"
I work with HR transformations where my work mainly focuses on digitalizing HR through the implementation of HR Technology. I help large organizations deliver better and more efficient HR services by improving HR processes, creating a better employee experience when an employee e.g., gets onboarded or promoted, as well as enabling opportunities for HR to become more data-driven through analytics and reporting.
The most exciting project I have worked on is probably the one I am currently on, where I am the project manager for the implementation of Job Architecture for a client. Job Architecture is the backbone of every HR-system and an enabler of employee experience, career development, as well as the more technical functionalities in the system. Besides designing the architecture and getting hands-on experience with the in-depth development of the “nerve system” of HR technology, the outcome of this project will also have a great impact on the employees. It therefore also includes strategic discussions with the client’s top management on how to enable career development and increase attraction and retention.What I like the most about Accenture is the culture! We are capable of being management consultants working on super exciting projects while also having a life outside of work. I think our leaders are good at promoting work-life balance and emphasizing it through their own behavior. Our culture enables me to have fun at work and have energy enough to also involve myself in things that I am passionate about.

I am one of the lucky ones who are now completely back to normal, working in my client’s office Monday - Thursday and Friday in the Accenture office. I always look forward to Friday since this is when I catch up with colleagues over lunch or a coffee. Even though it is amazing being able to collaborate with my client face-to-face daily, it also requires higher effort to stay connected with my team and colleagues in Accenture.
In Accenture, we have many great communities where you can collaborate with colleagues within and outside your team and across countries. It is up to you to participate to the extent that your bandwidth allows. This works really well for me, as I get the chance to meet colleagues across Accenture that are passionate about the same topics as me and also keep my sense of belonging to the company. I also stay connected by prioritizing social events in my team or via the communities I participate in.
I am very extroverted and it is important for me to see friends and family often and I, therefore, spend a lot of my spare time planning different activities with them - whether it is going away for the weekend, having each other over for dinner and wine, or going out. I also enjoy working out a couple of times a week and having slow mornings in the weekend.

Do an effort to get to know the less fun stuff within HR transformations and HR Technology, like master data management. A lot of people find it heavy and boring, but this knowledge is what will give you the opportunities to work with the super fun stuff. Also, figure out what your core values are and if your workplace lives up to this – only choose a workplace that fits you.
