Rina Castillo
Senior Manager Copenhagen, Denmark
2015

"I am still with the same shipping carrier where we went Live 1st September, 2014! There is still a lot of hard work to be done and battles to be fought and won, but it is my firm belief that only Accenture is capable of putting the right team in place to be able to truly deliver high performance."

2013

"First major Accenture project won at Denmark-based shipping carrier to implement Accenture Freight and Logistics Software –It was great to be part of it! For this, Accenture orchestrates services from Accenture Software, India Delivery Centers, and Consulting services – The client was impressed with what Accenture had to offer."

2012

"I got involved in proposal work for a Danish-based shipping carrier, which was extra challenging since Accenture had not done work for this client before, making it a priority target client. We were in multiple discussions throughout the year, and I was really pushed to my limits balancing opportunities for this client, as well as opportunities for other clients. This was, however, an exciting time for me, as I was asked to focus on solution deals rather than delivering projects (which were another first for me!) –I believe this has helped me to better understand the end to end spectrum of Accenture’s systems integration business, from deal shaping to delivery."

2011

"(I said goodbye to my Danish insurance client, as the claims transformation program that we commenced in 2003/2004 came to a conclusion with a successful go live of Release 3, nonetheless.) intet sigende imo?"

2008

"This was a big year for me both personally and professionally! I got married, transferred permanently to Denmark and also had my first child."

"I often get asked why I moved to Denmark, and to that point I always reply that I can never live with myself for turning down a good opportunity (it was not the amazing Danish weather). Whether it goes north or south, the important thing for me, is that I made THE decision. Worst case; it is always a learning opportunity."

2004

"I was assigned to an insurance project in Denmark, where Accenture was involved in a claims transformation program involving Accenture’s software Claim Components Software (now known as Duck Creek Claims). This would eventually become my longest running project engagement, and due to that, I have truly learned a lot. The project had a tough start, but ultimately, Accenture turned it around and delivered fantastic results –it was a true learning experience to have struggled as a team during the tough times. And then to also be there as the project made its way slowly to recovery, and ultimately to success. (The go live of Release 1 still remains to be, the best go live party I have experienced in my Accenture career!)."

2003

"I was assigned to Helsinki in Finland, where I was tasked to transition Release 2 of a custom application from Finland to our Delivery Centers in the Philippines. This was one of the first projects ever to be offshored from the Nordics. The project taught me a lot in terms of setting up, and mobilizing offshore teams. I ended up eventually assuming delivery responsibilities for the offshore Application Maintenance, Release 1. It became a good vehicle for me to learn more about offshore delivery and multi-site delivery models."

2002

"I got promoted as a consultant in March –this was important to me, as it was my first career level milestone. It also confirmed that Accenture rewards those who deliver good results."

2001

"This was when I took my first onsite assignment in Singapore, and my first real exposure to a truly global Accenture community – I worked with very skilled people from Singapore, Australia, India, Thailand and the Philippines. The project taught me a LOT in terms of how to work in multi-cultural teams."

2000

"I was lucky enough to get recruited by Andersen Consulting (part of Accenture) from my university in the Philippines where I am originally from – and that was before I even graduated in March that year. I joined in April, and was staffed on my first project for an internal revenue project in May."
