We are seeking a Google Cloud AI Engineer to join our Data & AI team. This is a hands-on role ideal for a capable Python developer who is passionate about Generative AI and eager to specialize in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You don’t need to be an expert in everything yet, but you should be comfortable writing backend code and have a genuine interest in how LLMs (like Gemini) work. You will work alongside senior architects to turn high-level concepts into working code and interactive demos for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapid Prototyping: Use Python (and tools like Streamlit or n8n) to quickly build "Show and Tell" demos. You will turn ideas into clickable apps to help clients visualize what AI can do.
  • Building with Vertex AI: Get hands-on with the Vertex AI SDK to connect applications to Gemini models. You will handle the API calls, manage inputs, and parse the model's output.
  • Supporting RAG Development: Help build the "knowledge base" for our AI. This involves writing scripts to clean documents, split text into chunks, and upload them to vector stores (like Vertex AI Vector Search).
  • Prompt Testing: Experiment with different prompts (Prompt Engineering) to see how the models react. Your goal is to find the best instructions to get accurate, safe answers from the AI.
  • Tool-Use Implementation: Write Python functions that the AI can "call" to perform tasks, such as looking up data in a SQL database or fetching weather data.
  • Business requirements: This is client facing position, you will work closely with the client team and business
  • Client Demos: Join client meetings to showcase the prototypes you’ve built and explain how they work in simple terms.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Python Proficiency: You must be comfortable writing clean, functional Python code. You know how to work with APIs, handle JSON data, and use libraries like pandas or FastAPI.
  • Generative AI Exposure: You have "played around" with LLMs. Maybe you’ve built a chatbot using the OpenAI API, experimented with LangChain, or completed a personal project using AI. Ideally you have delivered projects or POCs using GCP.
  • Google Cloud Familiarity: You have a basic understanding of cloud concepts. Experience with Google Cloud (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, or BigQuery)
  • Curiosity & Problem Solving: You enjoy figuring out why a model gave a weird answer and tweaking the code or prompt to fix it.
  • Communication: You are confident presenting your work. You can walk someone through your code or your demo without getting lost in technical jargon.

  • Fluency in English and Czech/Slovak is required. German is an advantage.

Desirable Extras (Nice to have)

  • Experience with Git and basic collaboration workflows.
  • Good knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity with container basics (Docker) – i.e., you know how to run a container.
  • Any certification in Python or Cloud (e.g., Google Cloud Digital Leader).
