Video Delivery Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities: 

 

• Configure and test network infrastructure specific to Video Services (streaming, conferencing, Telepresence/videoconferencing), Data (LAN, WLAN, VPN, and WAN), and network security

• Work with products in unified communications technologies such as: media gateways, gatekeepers, switches, routers, firewalls, packet shapers, access controllers, access points, presence servers, Telepresence devices, multipoint bridging units, call managers, videoconferencing endpoints and videoconferencing servers

• Project manage activities including work planning, risk/issues reporting, and status reporting

• Work on projects and implementations of new services as required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

 

Essential Knowledge and Technical Skills:

 

• CCNA or other related Cisco certification

• In-depth knowledge of network architecture concepts and the role that network components play in delivery of communication services (DNS, DHCP, NAT, firewall, proxy, web filters, switches, routers, IPv6, etc.)

• Knowledge of security terminology and standards

• Ability to troubleshoot general network performance and connectivity issues with analytical, research and problem-solving skills

• Hands on experience of installing/configuring/ replacing network hardware components

• Experience developing technical documentation and technical communications in an operations environment

• Ability to closely adhere to operational processes and technical standards defined by engineering team or architecture teams

• Solid verbal and written English communication skills

• Ability to understand and work with a culturally diverse team across various geographies

 

Desired Skills:

 

• Polycom certification

• Experience with Cisco MXP, EX or C series videoconference systems, Cisco Telepresence system models including CTS-3000/CTS1300/CTS500 or Polycom systems

• Experience administering Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM)

• Experience with Microsoft Lync 2010 & 2013

• Experience with Remedy or related ITSM ticketing system

• A foundation accreditation and/or a good understanding of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) version 3.0
