Job Summary: 
  • To lead and grow the Resources practice (Chemicals, Natural Resources, Oil & Gas, Power Gen, T&D) for China;
  • Develop and execute strategy – build relevant skills and capabilities, client team relationship, employee engagement
  • Management & Administration – recruitment, performance management, capability development, integration with global practice, metrics management
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development & Execution
    • Define the short term and long term strategy to meet the overall practice growth targets – identify unique skills to be built and long term clients to be pursued
    • Advice Res lead and local geography leads in the Region on clients and opportunities.
    • Help build/drive the team Capability in coordination with Industry Group and Business Services  with the end goal to achieve the team skill requirement and ensure availability for deployment
  • Resources Contact point with Local Client teams
    • Develop strong connect with local GU Leadership – should be seen as the Go to person in the Region
  • Local Business Operations
    • Coordinate local operations including support functions like HR
    • First point of contact for all resources for HR related activities
    • Drive Recruitment in coordination with Industry Group lead and local in-country Recruitment team
  • Utilisation
    • Ensure team chargeability are achieved – highlight risks to IG and BS Leads wherever see a dip in the future
    • Report periodically to Leadership on key metrics including utilization projections
    • Develop / maintain competency within the China team to fulfil the projected demand
    • Ensure coordination with the local Demand Supply team so that relevant skills are available and positioned to support the requirements in the geography and in the global network
Supervises:                           Will manage and supervise a team across levels
External Relationships:     Clients, Third party vendors, suppliers, agencies
Education:                           Master’s Degree from institute of repute
Work Experience:              12+ years consulting relevant experience in the Resources industry preferably in Power and Utilities or Oil & Gas. While direct consulting experience will be preferred, strong work experience with state owned enterprises will also be considered   
Work Requirements:         Extensive travel within China with limited travel globally
Knowledge and Skill:        Extensive knowledge of China consulting market, Proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese and/or other business languages in China. Good verbal and written communication in English is mandatory
