Michael Spellacy leads Accenture’s global Capital Markets practice. In this sector, shifting revenues, digital disruption and pressure to deliver higher value at lower cost drive radical change. Michael leads over 1,500+ Accenture consultants worldwide as they help investment banks, asset and wealth managers, and exchanges refine their strategies, reimagine their offerings and business models, and prepare for a digital future.

With over 23 years’ experience as a leader, investor and advisor, Michael is recognized for his global view of the capital markets sector, his keen insight into the evolution of market segments and his ability to envision, map and activate technology-led transformation, business growth and innovation. He has implemented complex global business agendas with bottom-line results ranging from $1 billion in revenue to $2 billion in cost-improvement.

Michael joined Accenture in 2017, leading its Asset and Wealth Management practice before taking on his present role in 2018. Prior to this, he held executive leadership positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Broadhaven Capital, Bridgewater Associates and the Boston Consulting Group.

He creates thought leadership for Accenture, contributes to industry and business publications and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.

Michael has been recognized as a member of the Global 100 Irish Business Leaders. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Master of Business Administration degree in Corporate Strategy and International Management from the University of Hartford.
