January 16, 2023 – January 20, 2023 l DAVOS, SWITZERLAND
With the World Economic Forum in Davos underway, we will be sharing multiple pieces of research for every CEO and their C-suite who believe they are on the right path.
Post-pandemic, most large companies are rising to the occasion, transforming more than ever before, faster than ever before—which we call “compressed transformation”—and embracing that all strategies lead to more technology. This is vital work and should feel good. Don’t stop. Our research published later this week, will show that a handful of companies are quietly and systematically changing the game and their industries. These are the reinventors. They are embracing what we call “total enterprise reinvention.” While it begins with a strong digital core, it is much more. Technology plus. We predict in three years or so, the full impact of their actions will be felt.
While this is focused on actions needed now—it is in the context of what we have predicted are the five key forces of change that companies must harness over the next decade:
Embracing and executing a total enterprise reinvention strategy
Being the winner in accessing, creating and unlocking talent
Leading in sustainability in how they operate and what they sell
Capturing the power of the metaverse
Building companies able to continuously leverage the on-going technology revolution to achieve breakthrough innovation over and over again.
These key forces of change are overlapping and interdependent. For example, you cannot fully harness forces 3, 4 and 5 without succeeding in the first two. And yet they also are distinctive and called out as such because underlying each are profound shifts across the business, even the past three years. From technology to the needs of employees, consumers, business customers and partners, businesses are being called on to dramatically change the ways they work, engage and transact, as well as leadership mindsets and skills from the C-suite to the newest hires.
Given the critical role that being able to access, create and unlock talent plays in any transformation and underlying all reinvention, this week we will also publish a special report focused on the role and profile of the Chief Human Resources Officer needed to achieve these goals—a role we feel needs to change at most organizations, and too often is not receiving the appropriate focus.
