Jaime Ardila, a member of Accenture’s board of directors since August 2013, is executive vice president and president of General Motors’ South American operations, reporting to the company’s CEO, and is a member of the General Motors Executive Committee.
Mr. Ardila is a seasoned executive and has been with General Motors for more than 25 years. Prior to being appointed executive vice president and president of General Motors South America in 2010, Mr. Ardila was president of GM’s operations in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Previously, he was vice president and chief financial officer for the Latin America, Africa and Middle East region.
Mr. Ardila first joined General Motors in Colombia in 1984 and has spent all but two years since then with the company, serving in a variety of financial and senior executive positions—primarily in Latin America, as well as in Europe and the United States. Between 1996 and 1998, he was with N M Rothschild & Sons Ltd., establishing the investment bank’s Colombian business before rejoining GM. He also worked in the Colombian government at the beginning of his career.
Born in Colombia, Mr. Ardila holds a Master of Science in economics from the London School of Economics and earned his B.A. in economics from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogota, Colombia.
