Accenture is innovation partner to the National Gallery Singapore

Gallery Explorer app makes visual art more accessible to the public.

Overview

The National Gallery Singapore is a new visual arts institution housed in an iconic building that combines two of the country’s national heritage monuments: the City Hall and the Supreme Court. With a floor area of 64,000 square-metre, the S$530-million Gallery is comparable in size to the Musée D'Orsay in Paris and the Museo Nacional Del Prado in Madrid.

It manages the largest public collection of modern Singaporean and Southeast Asian art in the world, dating from the 19th century to the present. Through collaborative research, education and exhibitions, it highlights the importance of modern art in Southeast Asia in a global context.

In December 2014, Accenture became innovation partner to the Gallery, helping it offer visitors an immersive and interactive visual arts experience through the use of digital technologies.

Opportunity

As innovation partner to the Gallery, Accenture used its global expertise to help it become the top destination for art in this region. We transformed visitor experience by combining the best of digital innovation with the draw of visual arts.

In particular, we brought together mobility, analytics and digital marketing, along with an agile cloud-based infrastructure that allows the Gallery to offer a differentiated experience for visitors right from the start.

For our work with the Gallery, the National Art Council conferred us the Distinguished Patron of the Arts and the SG50 Arts Patron awards.
