Prime Minister of Canada
Justin Trudeau is Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister and serves as Minister of Youth. He studied literature at McGill University, graduating with a B.A. in 1994. He then completed the University of British Columbia’s education program, and taught French, math, drama and other subjects in Vancouver. Justin was elected Leader of the Liberal Party in April 2013 and led his party to victory in 2015, winning a majority government. His first cabinet saw a historic Canadian first with a gender balanced cabinet.
Elected on a commitment to the middle class, and those working hard to join it, he is a proud feminist and firm believer in the diversity that makes Canada great. Over the past three years, the Prime Minister and his team have worked to advance the country’s national innovation agenda, protect the environment and Canadian natural beauty and improve life for working families nationwide.
In addition to his responsibilities as Prime Minister, he is also proud to serve as the Member of Parliament for Papineau and was first elected in 2008.
