In 2016, Corporate Citizenship Canada launched myGivingCanada—a new platform for employee charitable giving. Our goal is to provide a fun and convenient way for our people to make an impact with the causes they are most passionate about, whether that be volunteering time or supporting employee giving campaigns.
"As the Fall Pledge lead for Canada for the last five years, our open giving campaigns have seen increased enthusiasm leveraging our new myGivingCanada platform, where it’s easy for people to find and support the causes meaningful to them. While the needs of our communities continue to be monumental, the generosity of our people continues to impress and ensure that our communities can meet the challenges ahead. A big thank you to everyone who participated and a special thank you to all of the volunteers who make this campaign happen!"– Ari Rowland, Campaign Lead
Accenture donated funds to purchase laptops for the Employment ACTion program led by ACT (Aids Committee of Toronto).
The program offers employment and career services, skills upgrading, resume and interview coaching along with job search, placement and retention follow-up services for people with HIV who are considering (re)employment. The laptops will allow Employment ACTion to provide personal training where it will be most convenient for their users, allowing them to focus on their job search preparations with increased flexibility.
Jason Patterson, ACT Director of Development, said, "We are so grateful to be in a partnership with an organization that supports job seekers living with HIV."
The Welcome Home Project by United Way St. Catharines helps those in our community in need embark on a new life in a new home by donating new and gently used household items. Without our support there would be a huge gap in the community. The items we collect are packed into bins and distributed to agencies across Niagara to assist individuals moving from temporary shelters into more permanent housing.
Team competition events were held to collect much needed items. The teams collected 13 bins and over 30 boxes brimming with household products. Corporate Citizenship donated $5,000 and the Niagara office raised $2,600 during the Fall Pledge Campaign, which was donated directly to the United Way St. Catherine’s Welcome Home Project.
“Everything in the kit I needed and used. I had nothing when I moved - not even a knife and a fork - it was perfect. Thank you.”
“Thank you for everything. I know that you have made me ready for our new, happy, healthy life.”
