“Accenture Consulting has provided me with the platform to help global banking executives solve their most pressing business issues, make an impact in our local communities, and work with elite talent every day.”

What I Do

As a Management Consulting Senior Manager in our Financial Services practice, I wear many hats.

From a market facing perspective, I help our banking clients run and grow their businesses more effectively. I advise them on the most relevant thought leadership and deliver projects ranging from operating model development to process design.

In addition to client work, I lead our Management Consulting Development Program across Canada, which provides training, mentoring and community events for our management consulting analysts. I also lead initiatives such as youth mentorship programs in our local community that align to our Skills to Succeed corporate citizenship initiative.

Day in my Life

Every day is similar in the sense that you are always learning something new and doing something different.

On my subway ride to work, I jot down my list key decisions, activities and conversations for the day.

Once I arrive at the client site or the local office, a different mix of activities will occur throughout the day depending on priorities. These activities could include client workshops, team meetings, coaching sessions, asset development, campus recruiting, thought leadership, community social events, client dinners, videoconferences, etc.

At the end of the day, I always feel like my team and I accomplished and learned a significant amount.

Outside the Office

Outside of the office, I try to apply the same focus and energy to other aspects of my life. I am passionate about giving back to the community and am currently helping to build mentorship programs to address youth employment issues.

I also really enjoy amateur boxing. I train and compete as a novice amateur boxer which helps me sharpen my mind, body and soul. Last but not least, I love spending time with my family, dog and binge-watching TV series with my fiancé.

My Advice

For recruits: do your homework on potential career paths. Do not default to what everyone else around you is chasing and make sure that you pursue the type of work that you are passionate about. Your career will consume a large part of your life – make sure it’s something you enjoy.
