Job Description

The Inventory Manager, based in Winnipeg, collaborates directly with leaders and teams from Enterprise Business Services, Finance Operations, and Stores and Inventory Service providers to define strategies aligned with Business Plans. This role enhances the organization's finance department by providing expertise across functional areas such as Scheduling and Process Improvement/Automation to enable business results.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading a team to the highest standards of performance through hiring, goal setting, coaching, performance reviews, and positive role-modeling.

  • Analyzing, identifying, and recommending process improvements and system modifications to standardize operations, increase productivity, and enhance efficiency.

  • Engaging stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved processes and cost savings.

  • Demonstrating CORE values to foster relationships within the team and with all business partners.

  • Ensuring all tasks within the functional area are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations accurately reflect the company's inventory position, and following up with solutions to any process or control-related issues.

  • Ensuring all inventory results are recorded in the financial statements on a timely basis, with all necessary investigations performed.

  • Collaborating with business partners to develop recommendations and processes to reduce shrinkage.

  • Ensuring that all department objectives and initiatives are completed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience

Professional Qualifications:

  • University degree in accounting; a professional accounting designation is preferred

  • Proven leadership experience with an approachable and collaborative demeanor

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Access databases, with experience handling large volumes of data

  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is considered an asset

  • Familiarity with VBA and SQL is considered an asset

  • Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives

  • Strong project management skills are an asset

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation abilities
