Job Description
- (Internal Title: Construction Management III)
- Responsible for inspecting the work materials and methods to ensure that the requirements of the contract documents are fulfilled in a safe manner with requisite quality; prepares daily progress and inspection reports for active construction contracts and issues contract deficiency reports including the follow-up on required corrective actions including inspection of same
- Observing, acting and reporting on any contractual and non-contractual infractions of safety, security, operational interference or customer inconvenience
- Provides special inspection expertise in structural, civil, architectural, roofing, mechanical or electrical disciplines, as required for the type of construction work
- Liaises between the contractor, staff, utility companies, local municipalities and other external agencies
- Monitor all construction work for compliance with the contract requirements
- Review any non-conformance issues with the contract requirements and construction documents and help draft associated documentation
- Conduct daily site inspections to take photos and record construction activities
- Prepare and submit daily reports to leadership
- Develop complete records and logs of materials, equipment, deliveries, construction progress, and labor used, especially with claims or disputes (potential or actual)
- Notify the Health and Safety Manager of any noted unsafe practices
- Develop weekly and monthly KPI reports
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to support project construction activities
- Administer construction documents and correspondence
- Develop project documents through various phases in support of the manager and team
- Create constructability reviews and reports
- Complete any tasks assigned

Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Construction Management in the area of specialty
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in an Engineering or Construction Management field
- Licenses OR Certifications:
- Holding a recognized certification in area of specialty
- Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of prevailing Construction means and methods in area of specialty
- Proven capability to effectively lead a small team in Construction Management
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence
- Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Expert in other Construction-related software applicable to the area of specialty
- Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
- Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
- Must have demonstrated experience effectively relaying and receiving critical and technical information (written and verbal) to varied audiences
- Expert ability to work collaboratively in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
