Job Description
- (Internal Title: Risk V)
- Lead the implementation and management of risk management services per the mission and goals of projects and programs from inception through to completion
- Organize and facilitate Project risk workshops and meetings focusing on identifying risks to both Project and Program objectives
- Own and manage the project Risk Register
- Lead and direct the development of the Risk Register through active collaboration with the client and the contractor
- Oversee for risk management analysis, mitigation planning, and status reporting
- Manage the integration of risk items into the schedule and project costing
- Regular interface with Project Controls team to ensure risk items are properly captured in controls and reporting
- Lead risk workshops with Contracting Authority
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to promote joint risk evaluation with contractors to establish a basis for risk transfer and risk sharing
- Report and update, on a monthly basis, high and critical risk elements
- Ensure that work is fully supported from a consulting standpoint in an integrated, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective manner
- Finalize the budget and operating or delivery plan for the risk management services in consultation with the project or program team and client
- Review changes and interventions to ensure risk management service goals are achieved on the project or program
- Facilitate various project focus or function meetings with a spotlight on service initiatives
- Plan for and meet with stakeholders (including senior management and sponsors) to streamline transparent project communications
- Direct the production of accurate and timely reporting of project or program status and performance throughout its life cycle
- Control the delivery of and adherence to the operating or delivery plan scope, schedule, milestones, budgets, and KPIs on the project and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate
- Finalize and sign off on progress reports, proposals, and presentations to various audiences, including team, client executives, and key stakeholders
- Develop risk breakdown structure aligned with project WBS and CBS
- Prepare risk training materials and train the project team on the principles of risk
- Stay abreast of market trends and implement process improvements or efficiencies
- Evaluate risk registers at the project and program level, ensuring quality standards are met
- Perform quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis using Risk Management software (e.g. Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen Risk, etc.) and provide the interpretation of results (e.g. Distribution S Curve Graph, Sensitivity Analysis Tornado Chart and Deep Dive Schedule Logic)
- Follow up with risk owners to ensure the mitigation actions are on track, including escalation where required
- Review contractor progress reports and identify the risks impacting project cost and schedule and reflect them in the risk register
- Work closely with scheduling to prepare a high-level schedule (or assess detailed schedules) to be used for quantitative schedule risk analysis and define the link between risks, duration uncertainties, and schedule activities

Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in development and implementation of risks management practices, risk identification, risk mitigation, and strategies on similar scope and size construction projects/programs.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Licenses OR Certifications:
- Holding recognized certifications including Certified Risk Management Lead (CRM) or similar designation
- Skills and Competencies:
- Experience with developing risk registers, baselines and associated analyses (sensitivity, risk, float, critical path)
- Knowledge of tools such as P6 – including resource loading, Primavera – earlier versions, MS-Project, SQL databases, MS-Office project suite, TILOS, Risk Radar, DOORs, Relatics
- Has sufficient experience to be able to provide meaningful input into developing risk mitigation strategies (has to have practical operations knowledge to make substantial impact)
- Experience setting and analyzing KPIs and relevant KRAs
- Experience with change management and implementation within a production environment
- Extensive understanding of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
- Well-versed and experienced in managing the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
- Mastery of risk management software including Active Risk Manager (ARM), Oracle Primavera Risk Analyzer (OPRA), Acumen Risk, Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, MS Project, etc.
- Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
- Proven success in providing leadership to project teams by building and motivating staff to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
- Exceptional people skills and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously and interface with a wide cross-section of personnel
- Experienced in leading, engaging, coaching and mentoring a team of Risk professional professionals
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships within various teams, partners, and clients
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
- Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
- Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities with a track record for meeting deadlines
- Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal) in a demanding multidisciplinary project environment
- Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently on creative and analytical tasks in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
