WORK YOU’LL DO

As a Performance Engineering Architect some of your key responsibilities may include:

  • Defining the strategy for enabling performance engineering activities, such as performance testing, diagnostics, monitoring and service virtualization;
  • Managing Performance Engineering engagement, planning, preparation and execution activities, creating effort estimate and resource model required to deliver on time, within scope and budget;
  • Identifying, evaluating, and recommending performance testing, diagnostics, and monitoring tools and techniques relevant to the application architecture; 
  • Managing Risk or Maturity Assessment to identify gaps in as-is performance engineering capabilities and recommend transformation approach;
  • Learning an application's design to assess for performance and availability risks and identify areas to apply past learnings
  • Collaborating with project team to review and refine application NFRs, SLAs, & KPIs to create acceptance criteria and performance budgets necessary to measure, validate, and improve performance;
  • Collaborating with developers to promote the concept of performance engineering during all phases of the SDLC to detect and correct performance issues earlier in the lifecycle;
  • Leading defect management activities, facilitate triage and root cause analysis of performance and availability defects;
  • Documenting performance findings and recommendations;
  • Interacting with client and/or Accenture development, operations, and infrastructure resources to communicate status of activities, and recommended solutions to remediate performance defects;
  • Participating in re-architecture, redesign, and refactoring decisions to satisfy performance requirements;
  • Coordinating development of dashboards and reports to provide ongoing visibility into the performance of client applications;
  • Contributing learnings and experiences to the Accenture Performance Engineering community.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years' hands-on experience in performance engineering, domain: performance testing, monitoring, diagnostic, service virtualization
  • Minimum of 2 years of Team Lead experience leading a team with experience in Project Planning, Estimating or Project Management
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience performance diagnostics tools (e.g. Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, CA APM (previously Wily Introscope), etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience performance monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, SiteScope, Telegraf, Prometheus, Datadog)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
  • This role requires 100% travel flexibility to travel and work onsite with clients (typically Monday - Thursday)
  • Racking up those air miles will have to wait, as weekly non-essential travel to client sites Monday through Thursday is currently suspended.  For now, all Accenture business travel, international and domestic, is currently restricted to client-essential sales/delivery activity only.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering software designed for high concurrency, scalability, or availability
  • Experience using Performance Testing tools (e.g. LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter, BlazeMeter, Gatling) 
  • Experience using Application Performance Management (APM) tools (e.g. AppDynamics, DynaTrace, New Relic, CA Introscope APM, MicroFocus Diagnostics)
  • Experience using Application Performance Monitoring tools (Splunk, SiteScope, Telegraf, Prometheus, Datadog)
  • Experience or good understanding of Service Virtualization tools (CA Service Virtualization, MicroFocus Service Virtualization, Parasoft Virtualize, WireMock, SmartBear)
  • Hands-on experience collecting performance data, analyzing, troubleshooting, and tuning
  • Exposure to Cloud, SaaS, and virtualization concepts and performance concerns
  • Exposure to application threading and concurrency concerns
  • Working knowledge of operating system design , processes, and threading model
